Re: Vertebral compression fracture -spinal cord freeing

Hi sky. Well hopefully the radiotherapy will alsomake a massive difference to your mobility. I hope you continue to improve xxx

Re: Vertebral compression fracture -spinal cord freeing

Thanks everyone
The surgery seems to have gone as well as it could
I was able to get out of bed and sit up in a chair for an hour today
Apparently my ct scan shows bone mets in a couple more vertebra and my left hip so I'll be getting radiotherapy in a couple of weeks

Re: Vertebral compression fracture -spinal cord freeing

Hi sky. I also had this problem but as helen said i had radiotherapy which reduced the tumour greatly. However surgery wud be my next option. Re poor sleeping. I am afraid that seems to be the norm.

Sky to sea,I'm so sorry about your recent diagnosis, you have come to the right place for support. Are the offering you rads for the spine mets? As this can shrink them and ease pain.
Your not alone I don't think many of us sleep well .
We are all here if you need advice, chat, scream or a hug. A lot of us hang out on bone mets thread regardless of our mets. So if you are feeling strong enough join us we even have a laugh. We are a very friendly bunch and I personally think of the ladies as friends and couldn't do this at times without their support.
Huge hugs,Helen xxxxx

Vertebral compression fracture -spinal cord freeing

Hi I've just had spinal surgery (on Sunday) following a recent diagnosis by MRI that confirmed bone mets were pressing on my spinal cord. I walked into hospital to receive this news. Gutted about covers it!
So I'm now in hospital waiting to get a clear picture of how it all went and what to expect now.
Any pointers gratefully received. Funnily enough I'm not sleeping terribly well.
