Wait time for appointment

Well, turned out that referral had gone missing!! In the end I had a 4 month wait to see the specialist in my area. Fortunately I was able to see someone in another county which meant I had a compression sleeve for my flight. Getting the right treatment since being diagnosed with BC has been a constant struggle.

Hi Atat,

I paid to see someone whilst I waited for NHS referral. Google Cancerkin, they are a London charity providing treatment. LSN produce leaflet of practitioners. I know its rubbish to have to pay and not right but my view was that I was the only one losing out by waiting. Macmillan may also be able to sign post you bas they have a service, just started near me.

Should have added that I live in a large county in the east of England and there is only 1 lymph nurse who is based 50 miles away. Guess where I live!!!

Have tried that, but it's been a complete waste of time. She says they have no influence over them.

Dam that's not good if you have the energy call your bc nurse to get it speeded up if not get someone else to call

I would hVe thought if an issue you'd wait two weeks at most

Yes, in the arm that I had the Chemo, not the arm that my nodes were removed from surprisingly, so I am still having blood tests etc in the arm that may have lymphodema. My GP said chemotherapy can cause lymphodema. I'm wanting to see a lymphodema nurse to get advice on what to do.

I've been told it will be weeks, months. What is one supposed to do in meantime?
