Watching Grease - forgotten how much I love that film! Sang along to all the songs - brilliant!
Getting my CT scan results today and hearing the Consultant say that they were ALL CLEAR!!!! Haven't heard them words in a while... Just got to have bone scan now!!!!
Trip and Beverley Hills, I concur regarding convent schools and nuns - my school was known by the inmates as Colditz Convent. And the nuns did a great deal to build up the massive guilt complex I've carried round with me for many years. At its worst I've felt guilty the instant I woke up for not waking up earlier...
Anyway, what made me happy today was getting a few more things ticked off so I'm ready. I now have a date for my onc appointment (next Weds) so I get to find out what my treatment plan is. Also spoke to my GP to tell her the results I got on Tuesday and asked her to go full steam ahead with the portacath referral, so I feel there's progress there too. Went to dental hygienist to get my mouth as ready as it can be, and had a really nice massage at the Fountain Centre (but did those two in the wrong order really...) Also met a friend who's had the same thing for a long-promised coffee - Maggie you look really well! - and had a very tasty stir-fry for my tea.
Going to the hairdressers today and realising that finally, 6 months after chemo, my hair seems to be in fairly good condition. And, not only that, but it also seems to have grown back thicker! Another step towards normality and hopefully a positive thought for any you going through chemo at the moment.
A friend & colleague had a "lump" investigated at the breast clinic today & she has just called to let me know confirmed no cancer just a cyst.
I'm waiting to start RT; a big relief my friend has escaped the same journey.
Seeing my Boss and being told I can work between FEC sessions!
Seeing lots of my fantastic work colleagues, who have been emailing me the news!
Being told I looked fantastic with my new hair cut by a bloke I quite like!! 🙂 (Ex dumped me @ Dx)
021210 messaging me asking what school I went to.. and discovering that we'd been to the same one! How funny is that?! I can now definitely state that going to a girls' convent school and being taught by nuns may have added to the stress in life which may or may not have contributed to breast cancer.
Good to know what is ahead - Chemo, Rads & Tamoxifen for me. Funny what can make you happy, but it was great to have it all explained and to understand how taking the full package could improve the long term prospects.
Finally made it to see the oncologist for the first time as back pain eased enough to enable me to get up. At least I know what to expect now, although he has asked for scans in view of the back problem.
Suddenly realising this morning that my legs and armpits don't need shaving, even though it's at least a week since I did them.
Every cloud has a silver lining...
That is good news (in the scheme of things)
I am still waiting for results of re-excision on 24/2, hopefully will get them when I see the surgeon on Fri. It's the waiting that's the worst and avoiding further surgery has to be brill news x
GOT MY RESULTS AT LAST! Sorry, meant to post earlier today but posted on Facebook Status thread instead. (I've been away from home today so not good access to internet.)
Margins clear on re-excision, so I can now move on to the rest of the plan - chemo, Herceptin, radio, Tamoxifen, not sure about the detail of any of that lot.
Finding Valentine card 'to my wife' in a bag that obviously he didn't think I'd look in. Made me happy that he has got me a card and done it so early.
Also, yesterday's wmmht should have been got back from shops having remembered everything we needed despite not writing a list and brain being addled from chemo last week.
Sunshine, beautiful sunshine 🙂
The lovely sunshine, not having to get up too early and finding out that my work colleagues have organised a big fund raising campaign at work in aid of Breast Cancer
Not hearing church bells at all 'cos I was asleep 🙂
The frost and the sunshine are beautiful this morning, cold though!

Being told I don't have to wear bra at night any more :))
Crocuses as well as Snowdrops flowering.
Being able to starfish in bed now, Yippee!
Spending a weekend in london with my lovely school mum friends. Shopping till we dropped in Westfields and finding out that they had booked me a 2 hour session with a personal shopper so I could buy new clothes to boost my confidence (so lovely). Getting drunk and eating too much with the gals on Sat night and then pampering in the spa on sunday. Such a fab weekend and great to feel "normal" for a while.
Finally being able to lie on my front in bed last night! Woohoo!
Driving my car for the first time in two weeks had that lovely sense of freedom and independance 🙂
Watching my youngest playing with a professional orchestra (part of a post graduate placement) via recording. OH was in the choir, just to add to the family occasion.

Getting another tattoo! Hoorah!
Making the effort to go watch my little boys football match & watching him score 2 goals then home for roast dinner & feeling very blessed & proud of my wonderful children 🙂

a friend who I haven't seen for 6 years visiting. He brought flowers, wine and a smile to my face.
My hens are getting down to laying eggs again after the break caused by decreased daylight hours! Unfortunately 3 old girls died while I was away last week, but it's made me keen to buy a few more, which also makes me happy!
What made me happy today? Actually wanting to drink a cup of coffee and it even tasted good! And having a hot sausage sarnie for lunch. Yum.
You can tell I'm making the most of the good days before FEC2 on Wednesday, can't you?
What made me happy yesterday 🙂 watching my very talented son in his drama production 🙂
cant wait for my sunday roast, hope the sprouts help!!
I am SO with you on the having a wash thing. When I took the dressings off finally, I had one of those long hot Hollywood showers where you can't see from one side of the bathroom to the other because of all the steam. Lovely!
What made me happy today was having a bath instead of making do with a strip wash and know i have a wonderful family i know we can beat this horrid bc i love me
Spoiling myself rotten with a manicure & pedicure after the pre chemo trip to the hairdressers, i may look like a toy poodle (curly hair doesnt do short too well) but i have lovely looking paws 🙂
A lovely long phone call from my youngest, and a chance of seeing her later in the month.
Having a load of phonecalls & emails from people offering to drive me to Chemotherapy sessions.
A stilton & spinach tart for lunch!
Receiving gorgeous flowers and a lovely bottle of red from my mum and her fella xxx
My eldest daughter telling me that yesterday in PHSE (?? Wierd new GCSE subject) they were discussing irresponsible journalism, and the teacher showed them a clip of the BBC news story that had 'just' come out on breast cancer... and they discussed how dangerous a news story with no 'facts' quoted could be... and how different the reporting was from the actual statistics that had been released.
Wish I'd known she'd done that yesterday, before I ranted all round the house about it...lmao.
A response on my girlie's facebook event.
"wow, omg im so sorry to hear this, really sad news 😞 ive just told my mum to check her self and she did, AND she's now got an appointment with her GP, thanks for the heads up and my respects go to you :("
Very worrying for the woman concerned, but brilliant that the awareness message is getting through.
Lella, I've copied and pasted your post to her so she can take a look. Had a quick squint and it looks very good.
Full fat lurpak butter on freshly toasted bread. ( will have my apple later.... Oops too late already have bc)
CM - I'm a teacher and thinking what your daughter is doing should be done in all secondary schools. Does your daughter know about the breast cancer charity Coppafeel? http://www.coppafeel.org/ started by 23 year old Kris who was diagnosed in 2009. It's a great idea because it makes it 'cool' for young women to be breast aware.
Happy today because 2 weeks today I'll be waking up with a new pair of boobs 🙂
I meant to say I would go hat/scarf less ALL the time, but it is too drafty at the moment!
... taking off my hat in a restaurant with some of my family, AND on the train on my own from Peterborough to Aberdeen!! First times I've gone public like it, and comments ranged from "Dame Judy" to "sexy"! ( bro' in law) Felt more confident and liberated, and people actually say I have a lovely shaped head!Woo Hoo!No more wig for me, and if it wasn't so cold I'd go hat/ scarf less too.
Choccie, must catch up on your posts, but from what little I've had time to read so far I feel you and your girly have done REAL good!:-)
Off to check up appt with Onc today, so better get on.
Hugs all round,
Heather AKA Judy!
P.S hair is about 3/4 of an inch now, almost a forest!
Modbird, there is no mum prouder, but her (and my) massive appreciation goes to the people who have donated.
Having my dressing removed - Bliss, and reading about CM's wonderful daughter what a fantastic girl you must be soooooooo proud CM.
My big bag of chanel make up and potions csre of "look good, feel better" as a thsnkyou for doing a talk for them last week. Cr@p few days beforehand but this made me smile :-)))
It being light when I got up & opened my curtains before doing lunchboxes for kids, & the sunshine, Oh! the sunshine!! 🙂
The glorious sunshine! 🙂
Lella, I'm completely bursting with pride. I was at a school assembly she is doing to all the year groups and she was great - standing up in front of 300 kids to tell them that cancer has affected her life, a very special girl.
I have also had a fantastic day spending time with someone I haven't seen for ages who ALWAYS makes me laugh, so I have a big smile on my face today for two reasons.
