Re: Worried :-(

Hello Bumblegirl. Hopefully your mum will get some reassurance from the 'walk in centre' tomorrow.

I sometimes have pain in exactly the place you say and it seems to go right through to my back as if a knife is through me, but in my case it is heartburn/indigestion. I suffer from reflux sometimes and that can also cause similar symptoms....once ended up in a & e because when I dialled 111 they sent an ambulance practically as soon as i mentioned chest pains.

Let me know how your mum gets on....

Re: Worried :-(

Dear Bumblegirl
I hope you and your Mum are asleep now, but just in case... Christmas is a wonderful but also tricky time. The GP is closed, the hospital is open but very busy. Any ache and pain is scary in that context. Chest pain where your Mum has it could be indigestion or anxiety. The back has gone and so will hopefully will the chest pain. We all still get the usual aches and pains despite cancer, but will worry that cancer is behind them. Please don't worry. I am not sure how much a walk-in GP can help, but if your Mum is still in pain on Monday, make sure she sees her own GP. IT will hopefully be something which will pass away very soon. I, like many, get normal aches and pains which have nothing to do with cancer.

Re: Worried :-(

Hi bumblegirl

It sounds like you're feeling quite worried about your Mum.  I'm sure some of the other users will be a long soon to offer you their experiences and support.  In the mean time I have included below a link to the anastrozole fact sheet which you may find useful:-

Also you may find it helpful to share your thoughts and concerns with a member of staff on the BCC helpline. Do give them a call on 0808 800 6000 on 29 December when they will open again from 9 to 5pm.

Best wishes Sam, BCC Facilitator

Worried :-(

Hello,

I haven't been on here for a while. My mum finished her treatment for cancer in september and is currently on anastrazole.

Yesterday she woke up with back ache but it went but she also has pain just under her breasts but in the middle and its when she breathes in and out.
She says she is really tired and just doesn't feel right.

I'm really worried this could mean the cancer has gone somewhere else even though her mri and bone scan were clear showing the cancer hadnt spread, it still could have come back as secondary since then?
She is going to the walk in drs tomorrow but I'm really scared its come back xxx
