Hi all
Just a qucik update on the sales of badges. I understand that a few of you on the Live Chat last night were concerened that the pin had sold out. I believe that was a technical glitch and very pleased to say that although sales are going very well, we have not sold out and availability for the pin is in the online shop now.

SECONDARY BREAST CANCER PIN
Dear everyone
I would like to share with you how we are getting the news ‘out there’ about your brand new pin dedicated to people living with or lost to secondary breast cancer.
It is being advertised on the front page of the website, alongside details of our Living with secondary breast cancer services. There is a blog telling how this pin has come into being and the front page will link to the blog. Here is the post on our Facebook page today as well as tweets (please see below), sharing the news to an even wider audience. In our next addition of Vita due to be published beginning of July, the free online Breast Cancer Care magazine there is a small mention; it is small in this edition due to editorial cut off deadlines, but a bigger article is planned for the next issue. Perhaps any of you would like to provide a quote to be included, which could be anonymous if you would prefer? There are regular emails which are sent to different communities and the new pin information will be sent out to all of these groups, including the Nursing Network, which is a group of Breast Cancer Nurses both primary and secondary, so they are aware of the new pin and can share this information to others, both service users and colleagues. Our specialist therapists will be showing the new pin at the face to face services they deliver.
With thanks and best wishes
Anna

Got mine today and have turned pins round too! Will take me a while to do the all as I ordered 50! I do like the pins though and I like the words, just prefer them on the front. Going to London next week for scans so will pop in on my Mum and Dad and give them some pins for them and my sisters and probably nephew/neices.
Ah good idea Helen, I will do that too. Didn't realise we would get a collection box with the pins I would have ordered more, oh well can always get some more. My hubby has took one too to put on his work top.
Hugs Janette xxxx
Hi, received my sbc pins today, pin looks great but I am really disappointed that it doesn't obviously state what the pin indicates. The collection box has a picture of the pink pin it and no wording of secondary breast cancer on it at all, the little packet the pin comes in has a lovely verse on the back why can't that be on the collection box????
All that said am very proud to be wearing my new pin, and thank BBC for making it happen.
Thanks Janette xx
Dear everyone
I want to assure you that you are not being pushed or hidden away and I am sorry that is how some of you are feeling. We havent advertised the pin as yet as it caught us all a bit on the hop as it was 2 weeks ahead of schedule! We do have plans to share it to a wider audience and want to shout it loud and clear. We have a schedule of work which is planned weeks in advance and the new secondary pin is in there.

Hi Tinkerbelle & JulieD
The front of the card will have the pin attached to it so any wording would be lost which is why it is put on the back, can see why it is confusing though without a pin on it.
There is very limited space on the cards which is why we invite people to follow the link where detailed information can be shared. We can offer articles to the media and hope for the best and sometimes things are picked up on at a later date. Fingers crossed.
Glad you are all looking forward to seeing it, so am I!
I hope you all have a good and pain free weekend
Anna
Brilliant! Really pleased to see the pin will be on sale soon. Thank you for taking this on board.
I know you cannot guarantee whether papers etc will use a story but do hope you will be making press releases in the hopes that they will use it.
I like the dedication on the pin card but still feel it would be helpful to have a short explanation of what Secondary Breast Cancer is.
Delighted that profits, even if small, will go to SBC.
Thanks BCC
Ooh, exciting - that is speedy. Really looking forward to getting the pins. Thank you.
Okay, now I'm going to sound like an ungrateful witch but is it possible to have the information from the back of the card on the front? If it would hold things up then maybe for the future.
Do others agree or not?
Tink x
Dear Everyone
Again, thank you for participating in this survey and choosing the pin to represent secondary breast cancer.
Firstly the very good news – the pin will be in the shop and on sale MONDAY 1st JUNE! Two weeks ahead of schedule. Watch this space as on Monday I will be posting a link for everyone to see and you can start ordering straight away. You can purchase many other items through our online shop www.breastcancercare.org.uk/shop . As an exclusive for all of you here on the forum, we are really happy, in the short term, to send the Secondary Breast Cancer pins in packs of 25 (max 2 packs per request) on a sale or return basis. These can be ordered by emailing Fiona.vitti@breastcancercare.org.uk including your name, postal address and the amount. Once they have all been sold the money can then be paid in online at www.breastcancercare.org.uk/payin .
I would like to now try and address the questions some of you have posted below.
Q. Will there be a leaflet to go with the pin?
A. Each pin will be on a dedicated backing card (see pic below). There is a link on the card encouraging buyers to visit the website for more information about secondary breast cancer.
Q. What about a personalised card to go with the pin?
A. The backing card will give some information and will signpost people to where more information can be found. There are blank notelet cards which can be purchased from our online store which can be used for people to individualise any message they wish. Additionally, the pins can be purchased with favour packs which are designed for different occasions and come with place-cards to which again individualised messages can be added. These can be ordered online www.breastcancercare.org.uk/shop or by phone 0345 092 0821. We will also be including the new pin in the next issue of our catalogue.
Q. Will the money raised be used for secondary services?
A. The profit margin is incredibly small, each pin will profit a net profit of 26p. But, any profit which is made on the sale of these pins will go towards supporting people with a secondary diagnosis.
Q. Will there be a poster to go with the launch of the pin?
A. It is not usual practice to produce posters to advertise merchandise, but this is something we are discussing as a possibility.
Q. Will there be a press release?
A. Working with the mainstream media is never straightforward. We can approach them with a story but have no control whether it will be used. This is not something we can guarantee.
Q. A flat packed box to go with large purchases of pins.
A. We have a generic Breast Cancer Care pin badge sales box which we can provide if specifically requested. These cost £4 each to produce and would eat into an already small profit margin, but again, these can be supplied if requested. (please see image below).
Q. Asking Sheridan Smith to launch the pin.
A. A wonderful idea but unfortunately not possible. Sheridan is an ambassador for Coppafeel, a sister breast cancer charity who worked closely with Sheridan when they filmed The C Word, so it would not be appropriate to ask her.
We will be advertising the new pin using our social media channels and there will be a small mention in the July edition of VITA, because of tight deadlines. But in the next edition we hope to make a bigger splash. We will include information about the new dedicated pin in various emails, including our Nursing Network, particularly all those who are members of the secondary forum, nurses who are dedicated to working with patients who have secondary breast cancer.
Best wishes

Great idea buying lots of the new pin, I will definitely be doing that, I work in a pharmacy I will ask my boss if I can put some on the counter.
Janette xx
I do like that idea Lynn - I suppose it makes it a more personal gift if it is a brief resume of our own sbc story and probably personalised differently for each recipient......
It's not a good idea to engage brain at this time of the night LOL and I don't indulge in red fruit juice rofl. Going to bed before I get really silly now.

That's a good idea Dawn.
Lynnq I was thinking the same about a little card with explanation.
