a histology question...

am almost 3 years since diagnosis, but have never asked about something on my histology report -am quite curious to know what it means - it says ‘there is prominent retraction artefact’ - can anyone tell me what this means ? x

A retraction artefact means there was a clear space either partially or completely around the tumour. I don’t know what it means in terms of diagnosis. Maybe somebody else has asked the question.

Cherry

thanks Cherry- I’ll see if anyone knows diagnosis wise x

Hi Chipper,

I have tried to find a medical paper on this, and the amount is too large for me to undertake and I do extensive research. Maybe give the helpline will know, as they are the experts.

I would be interested to know what it is too!

yes, good idea,or else I could ask my consultant when I see him in May ! x
