Re: advice on reconstruction and surgery to treat brest pain

advice on reconstruction and surgery to treat brest pain Hello
I am 28 and am trying to find anyone who is undergoing surgery to treat chronic breast pain and / or give advice about reconstruction.

I have suffered from breast pain for 10 years which is getting worse and worse. 3 years ago i found a large lump which was growing very fast and opted to have a partial mastectomy to remove it. I have a history of breast cancer in the family and wanted it removed. Luckily it was benign but, the pain continued as well as a new post trauma pain which has left me coping with chronic pain which affects my life severely. I am unable to cope or work and life has been very difficult. I have had another 2 operations to dissect the breast tissue and nerves in the hope to get rid of the pain but to no avail. Having seen all sorts of breast cancer specialists, had checks for chest wall growths etc etc and seen many plastic surgeons i am now waiting for a bilateral mastectomy with reconstruction. I hope that no body minds me asking your advice, i admire you all for all you cope with and because i am not coping with cancer i wondered if i could ask on this site, but because it is the same surgical procedures- i am hoping that I might find somebodys advice! It is very hard to find other women who would not mind giving their experiences or advice. And ofcourse not everyone wants to talk about it.
I have been advised to have saline chest expanders put in in the same operation rather than silicone, but i am worried about some things I have read about the saline expanders coming apart or leaking. I think MCGann is the make. Does anyone think it is better to have the silicone instead before or instead or the expanders? I have had so much surgery that i would like to have permanent ones put in and have a break from ops. I am 32b now although smaller on one side and i am having all this to get rid of the chronic pain not, for cosmetic reasons. I would be happy having something 32a ish but would welcome advise. Although my surgeons say they have treated women for pain, i am yet to meet anyone and would welcome someone elses experience and thoughts.
thanks and best wishes to you all.
