I have had double mastectomy and reconstruction using my muscle from my back but have still got fluid on my back and under my right arm when can i expect it to go had the op in April 2016
I had single mx and recon in Spring 2014, and as far as I can recall it took many months for the fluid to be re-absorbed. The surgeon was reluctant to drain it as it could lead to infection. Uncomfortable as it was, I went along with that, and now hardly notice the slight swelling I have been left with.
Hi Tracy val that sounds like a long time to still have a seroma I’m sure it should have all re absorbed by now I would say mine took around 3 months maybe 4 at the most so if you had your op done in April I would get in touch with either your PS or breast care nurse for some advice x
