Thank you for replying! I'm pleased to hear everything seems ok - I'll come back and let you know how I get on too! X

Re: am I right to worry

glad to hear all is well with you Rebecca. Hopefully you will be able to let the worry go now.

Re: am I right to worry

Hi Julia
Yes I did go for my appointment at the clinic last week and the breast consultant nurse examined me and couldnt see anything unusual. Anyway she still sent me for a mammogram and an ultrasound of my left breast as I have also been getting pain and soreness there and both results came back normal. The sonographer could see swollen glands there which she said is hormonal. Both she and breast nurse recommended I try 3g EPO tablets a day and see if that helps the pain.
Anyway as neither my GP or the breast nurse didnt seem concerned about the veins or itching it seems I just have to accept it. Nurse said breasts do change over time in the way they look and feel. I feel more reassured after having the mammogram and scan. As for googling symptoms online I know what you mean about scaring yourself as I do exactly the same and drive myself mad too. I have stopped doing it now as not worth the stress and have been advised by health pro's not to either. Please let me know what your GP says

Re: am I right to worry

Hi Rebecca
I was just wondering how you are doing now? I'm scanning through messages on the BCC forum to find people with similar symptoms to me. My left breast has been itching for a couple of weeks, and I've noticed more blue veins on that side of my chest than the other. Did you end up going to the clinic? What did they say?
I hope you don't mind me asking for more information! I've a doctors appointment soon, but am scaring myself a bit by things I've seen on the internet.
Julia

Re: am I right to worry

I have never heard of blue veins being a sign of breast cancer... However, although its unlikely itching is cancer it could be, so you are doing the right thing getting it checked out if the symptoms have been going on some time.

Hi beck76

Welcome to the BCC Forum.  I've attached a link to our booklet which explains what might happen at your clinic appointment.  I hope this is helpful.

am I right to worry

Hi
I am 38 and have been having breast changes recently on both breasts which are itchy skin and blue veins have suddenly appeared. Also my skin sometimes looks different but not all the time. I have also had occasional pain in my left breast when pressed or knocked which went through to my back. I couldnt find any lumps though.
Anyway my GP examined my breasts well and he said there is no puckering and gave them a good check over for lumps/thickening but everything seems fine he said. Also checked under my arms but everything fine. Didnt seem concerned about the veins. He said he was confident everything was ok but if I wanted added reassurance then he would refer me to the breast clinic which he has done. So I am
waiting to hear from them.
I get occasional pain in my back behind my breasts (sometimes feels sore).
I have had a blood test for full blood count which came back clear but not sure if that would show anything serious anyway. (Had that done as I had to have other blood test for muscular conditions as have ongoing ache in legs which currently undiagnosed but all clear)

Anyway, has anyone experienced similar breast symptoms? I obviously feel more reassured as he couldnt find lump or tissue thickening but still a bit worried and hoping my letter from clinc arrives soon.
