brain mets and radiotherapy

Re: brain mets and radiotherapy

goodness really? I literally do not have a hair left on my head .. I didn't know it was even possible to be this bald and I've had chemo twice!  I'm still really really tired and getting quite alot of headaches but they said this would happen for a few weeks after treatment stopped as it carries on working.  Don't get scanned for ages as they wait for the swelling to go down .. really nervous it hasn't worked as can still feel something behind my eye. I look like I have chronic sunburn and my forehead and scalp is just peeling for England!

Re: brain mets and radiotherapy

Hi glad treatment finished , I didnt feel that tired really, hair is weird ,some come out but still got all over hair ,just going to see how it goes .

I have appt with oncologist week after next, was told swelling would have gone done by then. A bit worried what happens next ,i suppose a scan to see whats what?

Do you know what is happening with you?

Any way take Care, Hugs Carolx

Re: brain mets and radiotherapy

Hi both. I was diagnosed with a secondary brain tumour in Feb this year. I had one tumour 1.9 cm in left temporal lobe. I was lucky in that they managed to remove it by craniotomy and as they didn't see any more mets they have taken a watch and wait approach with me. I am off for third follow up CT and MRI scans this pm. So I don't have much I can say about radiotherapy I'm afraid. I do know there is another lady who did have radio fairly recently and as I recall the side effects were not too bad. Her post may have been bumped, if not I will try and find it for you. You could always pm her as sometimes users do not always check forum that often. There are a few of us about still going strong. Sending positive vibres. Sarah

Re: brain mets and radiotherapy

Thats exactly the same as me!  Not finding alot of people with any experiences to report! Do you know when you start?  They said within 2 weeks to me so it sounds like we may be doing this at a very similar time!
