Purse string, google it, but its where they draw in the hole like a gathering of an old coin purse. I think I am going to ask about what you have had done as not heard about saving the "Orio" as I call it lol   xx

The nipple is fairly flat but I think he said he could have altered it to protrude more later but for me it is not a bad match to the other one as it is so I haven't bothered. Not sure what you mean by purse string scar! X

Thanks Kiki, did you have your actual nipple reconstructed. I am supposed to be having the purse string scar but wondering if I could have what you have if it looks better. I want a nipple and areola re doing but if I can keep my colourful bit I will

The scar is straight across the nipple , about 6-7 cm long, quite neat now! Xx

Glad you've managed to decide, I don't think you'll regret it, the recovery should be much quicker than with the Diep. Remembering how awkward it was to push yourself up with only your good side after the op, it would have been so much harder if my abs had been out of action too! I opted for the teardrop shaped implant and it is just beginning to drop a little now (after 6months). I had DCIS so couldn't keep the actual nipple but he saved the areola which looks almost like a normal nipple. When is your op? Good luck! Xx

Hoping I've made the right decision. ..can't face the diep and read good comments about strattice...either way is not right or wrong though
