distended and swollen still Hi Lucy

That's really reassuring - thanks so much for replying. I'll just stop worrying and get on with it!

Hi Jane

Yes as far as I know it is normal, I still have slight swelling under my arm and I had my op on the 10th of feb this year...

Breast Cancer Care

I had a left breast DIEP flap reconstruction 3 weeks ago.

Healing is basically going well and I'm doing the physio and the two finger massaging. But my new breast still feels very swollen especially near the armpit. As if I have a book lodged under my arm all the time. Not exactly painful but feeling highly uncomfortable and distended.

Is this normal - am I just being impatient? Or should I be worrying about haematoma or fluid build-up which needs intervention? It's so difficult to know when to worry and when to just stop fussing.

If anyone else is further down the road and can advise I'd be grateful
