I can wholeheartedly and without reservation recommend a herbal supplement called Starflower Oil for hot flushes. Mine stopped after about a week taking a high strength capsule. They are totally natural and OK to use even with oestrogen pos cancer. Please do give them a try, they are wonderful. Carrie xx

thanks for your comment. Never heard of a chillow pillow, where do i get them?
I thought of taking evening primrose - not sure about that.
you mentioned sage, could you tell me more. like how do i use it.
My cancer was oestregen +. i am due to into have a hysterectomy (precautionary) as there are gyna cancers in my family.
Is your cancer hormone positive? If not you could maybe have HRT, but if it is, I've been told to use sage! I find that my hot flushes go through phases of being really bad and waking me up etc then seem to settle down for a bit. You can get a chillow pillow for night time, but during the day it is hard to cope. Some areas have a specialist menopause nurse so it may be worth trying to contact her.
I get the freezing thing too, I don't know which is worse. It makes it really difficult to know what to wear in bed.
Hope you get some relief soon
someone please help me. I am getting really bad hot flushes, i am getting really distressed with them. I get them several times a day and they go from my feet to my head and last for a few minutes. The night sweats are waking me up - i wake up 2 or 3 times a night sometimes more, with sweat running of me and wet sheets. I could be standing talking to someone then i get a hot flush and have sweat running of my face, it is really embarressing. Then i go from that to shivering with the cold. (one extreme to the next).
What can i do to help myself?
