Thank you for post, regarding you the radiologist that did my last bone scan had secondaries in her bones from breast cancer is now well so really hope it is possible for you. seeing my friend tomorrow so will find out more. Want her to join this site as think it is amazing in every way, and I know it is strange, as have not posted for two years, it is very comforting, much love x
It is possible that the extra radiotherapy has affected the bone cells (which are living cells) so that they are not repairing themselves normally. This is unusual, I think... I'm not a doctor 🙂 but I do have bone secondaries.
Hope this helps 🙂
I have been a member since being diagnosed in august 07 and i do not know what i would have done without this web site it actually saved my life, but that is another story. My friend in the village i live, had breat cancer two years before me, in the last six months she has had a lot of pain in her back and swelling. She has to go to Leicester this week for a biopsy, they are not sure what the whole problem is but she has been told that her bones are dying. That she may have to have a mastectomy she did not the first time some of her ribs taken away and chemotherapy. What is all this about?????
Apparently it is very rare and she was given an extra dose of radiotherapy by mistake, do not understand does it mean that her cancer has come back. Really need some help to get my head around this ,her breast cancer was 6 years ago. Would appreciate any help or reassurance so I can chat to her, everyone helped me so much, love this site katex
