stage of cancer, should I approach my surgeon?

The breast surgeon said stage 1, but after reading about stages I thought it should be 2 because it was over 2cm. The next apt I had was with the oncologist and I asked him and he said stage 2.

But I think it's best to go back and ask so that everything is clear in your mind, better that than wondering.

I used this and found my cancer was stage 2b,

My surgeon when asked said my cancer was stage 1 but all info on sites states it is stage 2; over 2cms. I am wondering if I should point this out to her, reason being I am about to try and make an insurance claim for my mortgage payments and I am led to believe this matters?
