Re: starting chemo July 2014

Hi fiona have felt really tired today head has been tingly today and had a headache just wondering if this is anything to do with hair . Found I keep touching it today 😊 that will be the next thing to deal with . I am on day 8 today and so far I think if this stays like this I can cope x

Re: starting chemo July 2014

Thanks Angie, sometimes I just feel so sorry to my son that I can't be a healthy mum. Hi wend, how is your day? Hope it isn't too bad. I almost slept throughout the day, and I woke up in the afternoon and had some dinner, I feel normal again. I was told day5-10 would be the weakest, so it seems that today is the only beginning?

Re: starting chemo July 2014

Hi Fiona how's you little lad? X's and hugs for a speedy recovery.. kids always get over these things quicker than us

Re: starting chemo July 2014

Oh fiona it is hard when you have children of any age but it must be even harder when they are younger . Hopefully he will get over this quickly and be back with his mommy . Sending you a hug x

Re: starting chemo July 2014

Hi wend hope ur sore throat is better. My little boy is still having a bit flu, and we are isolated. We both miss each other so much, every time when I think about him, I can't control my tears

Re: starting chemo July 2014

*PICC

Re: starting chemo July 2014

Hi Fiona an good morning all. PICK is fine just a bit awkward and have to be a little careful dressing and undressing. The worse thing for me is I am a little allergic to the dressing but taking antihistamines to counter that. Can't feel anything really so don't worry x

Re: starting chemo July 2014

Angiebun try not to dwell on what your work colleague says I think some people just don't think before they speak.the lump hurting is probably due to hormones if you are worried at all I would speak to breast nurse . X

Re: starting chemo July 2014

Yes I had Fec and taxatere? My hair fell out after the first Fec chemo - it was quite a surprise as to how quick it all happened and not really knowing what to do for the best - brush not brush, wash it or not but in the end I think it was less than a week and I got it shaved off at my hairdressers as I didn't have a shaver at home. That's when I came across Heather's Hair. It started growing back once I finished the FEC and went on Taxatere. I now have a good head of hair and it's been since May 2012 I finished all the chemo but had mx and radiotherapy thereafter. It's a long journey but if you can find a routine it helps to know when you will feel your worst - I just took myself off to bed and shut the door for a couple of days each cycle I was lucky I could do that I know. Wishing you all the very best.

Re: starting chemo July 2014

Evening all. You girls seem to have had a tough couple of days but hopefully perking up a bit now...glad those antibiotics are doing their stuff Ria. Cold not at all bad thanks Wend feeling a bit of a fraud for not being able to go ahead with chemo just for a sniffle but better safe than sorry I suppose. My lump is starting to hurt but not sure if it's because I am due on my period. It's getting bigger, a work colleague mentioned I look a bit lob sided today which is a bit worrying. Good to hear some of the side effects are wearing off Fiona. Big hugs for all (())

Re: starting chemo July 2014

Msmcann was my chemo nurse who suggested fast think lots of women are raving about it I'm sceptical. Did you have fec chemo if so when did you lose your hair and when did it grow back . I must admit I'm a bit anxious as this will be the next hurdle to overcome .

Re: starting chemo July 2014

Fiona00 Sorry to hear you haven't heard anything.  Have just checked with Heather's Hair I know the woman who runs it and she said she never got an email from a Fiona in the last few days. They are normally really good at getting weaves out asap. Will pm you the email and a phone number.

Wend63 yes I used fast when my hair was first coming back and my hairdresser was really impressed but not sure if she was just saying that. Am now using l'oreal Elvie Fibrology as had really fly away hair but find this thickens it up and calms it down. Also tried that Plantur 39 but didn't get on with it. Have to say it's amazing feeling your hair on the back of your neck. Never noticed it before but now if a lovely feeling!!

Anyone use an electric shaver for underarm hair? Never have but got told that they were the best as didn't nip your skin where you have no sensation. Any recommendations? Thanks.

Re: starting chemo July 2014

I too wish I could give you a hug x

Re: starting chemo July 2014

Kare we are all here...you are having a crap time but try and be strong don't give up before you have started...I too have been in some very dark places recently, odd emotions as well as times when I forget about it completely. ..my ethos is very much that if this is going to affect my life I won't let that happen until I am too sick to fight it. You are young, everything is ahead of you! Do you have friends you can talk to? Wish I lived nearby I could come and give you a hug!...take care of yourself xx

Re: starting chemo July 2014

I'm only taking mine twice a day don't want to become manic about taking it . Hope you feeling ok x

Re: starting chemo July 2014

Hi wend I will keep track of my temp thanks for reminding me this xxx

Re: starting chemo July 2014

Hi Kare sorry to know u have lost your mum and you are still young. But being optimistic, why not try all the treatments u can and see what life will give u after all these rather than give up before u have a go. Sometimes I feel like entering into an unknown adventure, it is not a fun experience but special..and at the end u will know yourself better than before x

Re: starting chemo July 2014

Oh kare I understand this must seem so awful for you .You must keep going at 28 you have a long life ahead of you . Don't give up use your mom's memory as strength to get through this and use us all on this forum we will help you x
