I think that is a brilliant idea and was going to suggest to you to call your bcn, I am sure she will know what to do. I know other ladies on here who have been diagnosed with lymphodema and they have been referred to a clinic because there are specific massages that they are given to do.
Hi ladybowler he didnt say anything about me going to lymphodema clinic only to go to the walk in physio clinic to see if there are any other exercises I can do, I am getting conflicting advice as doctor told me not to do too much repetative movements with that arm as it can make it worse and the surgeon told me to up my arm exercises to five times a day and they are repetative movements I am goin g to have to ring my breast nurse and ask her if I should have been refered to the lymphodema clinic as the pain is getting worse in my arm the more I do the surgeon told me to take more pain medication, I cant take codein based as have bowel problems and im on strong painkillers for the fibromyalgia and the doctor gave me tramadol on top of the ones im already on but I have no quality of life as they make me high and unsteady on my feet so have come off them
Well the good thing it is nothing sinister, however not good that it is causing you so much pain 😞 Are they going to refer you to the lymphodema clinic and is there anything they can do about the fibrosis>
Hi ladybowler I seen my surgeon and I have fibrosis of the breast and lymphadema of the breastit shrunk after radiation but has swollen bigger than the other side and is very painfull he also said its also swollen around the ribs and arm is slightly swollen so got to keep an eye on it, there doesnt seem to be an end to problems, I sometimes wish I had opted for mastectomy cant keep a bra on for long due to it being too painfull all surgeon has said is to take more painkillers
I cant help on the symptoms you describe but I would suggest that you perhaps ring your breast care nurse on Monday and explain what is happening to see what she advises, or ring the consultants' secretary and explain to her, she may well get the consultant to call you back.
Hope you get it sorted soon
