While most people who’ve had treatment for breast cancer don’t get lymphoedema it’s important to be aware of the risks.
Information on reducing the risk of developing lymphoedema after breast surgery used to include the recommendation to avoid the use of hot tubs and saunas. However, NICE guidance on Early and Locally Advanced Breast Cancer was reviewed in 2018 and now states that there is no evidence that using hot tubs increases your risk of lymphoedema.
Our booklet on Reducing the risk of lymphoedema has been updated since then to include this information to help people choose whether they wish to use a hot tub.

Hi. I am new to this forum. I was advised due to lymph node clearance that I could not use hot tubs.onhave just viewed your Lymphoedema pod cast which suggests that I can use them. Can you advise if this is ok and that advice has changed?
