Prolia and coronavirus

Re: Prolia and coronavirus

Hi Fezzy1952

Thanks for your post. It’s understandable that you’re concerned about your risk of contracting coronavirus (Covid19), given you’re on Denosumab Prolia.

Those who may be at higher risk include anyone with low immunity, such as people having chemotherapy or people who have had chemotherapy in the last three months.  Therefore, you may be considered to be high risk. However, it’s important to talk to your hospital team to discuss this.

Our webpage, has more Advice on Coronavirus for people with cancer

Prolia and coronavirus

I am receiving 6 monthly injections of Denosumab Prolia for osteoporosis and on Anastrozole for 5 years. Will I be at greater risk if I contracted coronavirus, as I have read that infections can be more severe when on Prolia.  Fezzy1952
