Re: Mediastinal

Hello SheepLady

Thanks for your post asking about the involvement of mediastinal lymph nodes and their significance.

As it is some time since you were diagnosed and treated for breast cancer it may be helpful to ask to talk to your breast care nurse or treatment team in relation to your individual case. You may want to ask about the treatment you had in relation to the lymph nodes and also the significance of mediastinal lymph nodes in your case.

Do call our Helpline if you would like to talk this through or have any further questions. Your call will be confidential, and the number is free from UK landlines and all mobile networks. The number is 0808 800 6000, (Relay UK -prefix 18001).

If you would like a nurse to call you do complete this form. Ticking the box agreeing to a call back.

Our opening hours are Monday to Friday 9am - 4pm and 9am -1pm on Saturday. Out of hours you can leave a message and we will call you back when we next open.

Best wishes

Hi, I was diagnosed 3 years ago. I've had no visible signs of disease for nearly 2 years.

I had a lot of information given to me at original point of diagnosis that I'm now trying to understand better.

I had a lot of lymph nodes involved including my mediastinal. Is there a particular significance in this area of involvement please?
