Having investigations for a breast problem can be a worrying and stressful time, especially when the specialists think it’s cancer. It’s understandable that you are feeling a bit lost and waiting for results is hard.
If your results show that you have breast cancer you will be introduced to a breast care nurse who will talk to you about your diagnosis and treatment. She will give you support and written information and can be a point of contact for you.
We offer a range of free supportive services that you might be interested in if you are diagnosed with breast cancer. Our Someone Like Me service can arrange for one of our volunteers to talk to you by email or telephone when you have more information about your diagnosis and in the meantime you can use our Forums.
As you are understandably anxious about your results you can call our Helpline if you would like to talk this through. Your call will be confidential, and the number is free from UK landlines and all mobile networks.
The number is 0808 800 6000 (Text relay prefix 18001).
Our opening hours are Monday to Friday 9am - 4pm and 9am -1pm on Saturday. Out of hours you can leave a message and we will call you back when we next open.
