I’ve received a letter to say this was my course of radiotherapy treatment but I don’t understand what it means. I know what treatment I’ve had but no ideawhat “adjuvant” means.
Anyone help me out

I am presuming you have had your op and that you are going to be having radiotherapy which is an adjuvant therapy, basically it is a treatment following your op to lower the risk of it returning, also I think hormone blocking tablets are classed as an adjuvant therapy It would really help if they “spoke” in laymans terms. I would just give your bcn a call to clarify it all for you

As Helena says, LP. It just means it’s given as an addition to help prevent recurrence, rather than to treat something which is already there.
