Lucaboo, hope these last few days go swiftly for you, like you I shall be happy not to have to make this daily trek..I know it’s been pretty stressful as you’ve had a long distance to travel and early starts..my times have been all over the place but I’m lucky in that it’s not so far and I’ve been driven each day by hubby...even the car parking has been fairly stress free thank goodness ! (Not his favourite thing...) Yep, the machines are clinically scary and look like something out of a sci-fi movie, and occasionally I’ve lain there wishing they were indeed futuristic and were zapping me with nanobots to kill all nasties and regenerate new cells....🤓, but no, dream on...
The staff, though at this Unit, are not cold and clinical, - fair dos they have to operate this constantly moving conveyer belt of zapping folks, but I’ve watched them, - with wheelchair bound and frail elderlies, treating them with utmost care and compassion, and it made me feel pretty glad to have been treated there too. They are bothered, if you know what I mean, to do things for you, and not dismiss concerns.
So far, skin is holding up,sorry to hear of other’s painful bits and hoping I get away with it 🤞-(my sort of painful area at the mo seems to be at the side under arm...) but am madly drinking water, slapping on cream, and fridge cooled Aloe gel...Polymem at the ready (thank you Helena for the tip, and looking forward to a nice loud Big Ben bell peal on here !)
Returning to a kind of normal still feels a very very long way off, though, and I’m so grateful that I can come on here and be amongst others, yourselves, who know and understand this.
Hope that Chris and Annieapple and other recent finishers are happily taking it easy and enjoying not having this daily grind ! We will be joining them soon, Lucaboo..
