I do sympathise. You have enough problems without having to hold your arms above your head every day. I agree it can be excruciating. My left breast is being treated and I have some scoliosis, which pushes my left shoulder forward plus tendinitis in the ligaments of that shoulder. So I find it extremely painful too. I decided to tell the therapists after I had to hold my arms above my head for almost 45 minutes as they tried to get the machine to function. When I had my first review for radiotherapy I mentioned it and was told that if it’s painful to tell about the therapists and bring your arms down to have a rest. All they have to do is measure you again but they don’t want you to be suffering any pain. So do mention it and take care of yourself. Also have you tried a neck cushion that you can heat in the microwave to relax your muscles. I noticed one in a Damart catalogue that I was sent and I’m thinking of getting one.
Hi Bizzy Lizzy, the team would be very concerned to know you are suffering. Please do tell them and ask for advice. Perhaps some gentle massage by the on call therapists might help? X
