Hi, good news you have a start date, try not to worry to much, hopefully all will go smoothly for you, also I couldn’t hold my breath so they have overcome this using a heart shield (don’t know if all units have them) maybe ask. Well done for starting your medication, unfortunately I haven’t yet, still getting my head around it. Only 4 more treatments to go for me, and hope yours goes quickly it’s surprising how you come to terms with it all.

Hi there, I am starting my radiotherapy next Wednesday the 11th March, 15 sessions ending 31st March.

I had a lumpectomy on the 16th Jan with clear margins and clear lymph nodes.

   Hi Yorkshire50                                                                                                                                          I have my planning scan on the 5th, so I am feeling anxious as I have to take a deep breath and hold for 30seconds. I have been practicing. I am now taking my hormone treatment tablets, so far no side effects  I am taking them early evening. I cannot wait for all of this to end just want my life back. Hi Tilli and Chelle56,

Thank you for taking the time to share your experiences. 

I will have my planning scan on the 3rd and then be given my start date and appointment schedule. 

Well done both of you on completing 2 weeks of rads without too many issues. I hope this continues  for the rest of your treatment.

Chelle,  We are almost done good luck for your final week, like you a bit tired now and looking forward to Friday, however not as bad as I expected.

Like Tilli I am on my 11th rad tomorrow and so far so good, just getting a bit tired now  😀

I don't know about your hospital but I was given AquaMax cream to use which I put on 2 or 3 times a day.

Don't use deodorant on the side that is to be and drink plenty of water

Hopefully you will be fine, if you have any questions ask your rads team, mine are also very supportive and check how I'm doing before each session.

Hello, I’m about to start my 11th treatment tomorrow (having 15) so far so good feeling a bit tired. Like you I was very worried almost didn’t go ahead...hopefully you won’t have any problems. Radiotherapy is not a ride in the park, the staff at the unit I’m attending are outstanding and very supportive.

Hi I am due to start rads in a couple of weeks. Slightly nervous. Would like to connect with others continuing or starting rads in March 2020. Any advice would be gratefully received.
