Change in diagnosis?

Hi all

I’m wondering if any of you lovely ladies can help?

I was diagnosed with stage 2 grade 3 dcis and idc (10mm tumor) with 2 possible lymph nodes.

I am over halfway through my chemotherapy and am due to meet my surgeon next month.

I was originally referred to breast clinic as I had what was believed to be a mastitis type infection. However, I was diagnosed with the above. A skin biopsy was taken and tested negative for any cancerous cells.

Yesterday, I received a copy of a letter from my oncologist to my surgeon. She states me as having inflammatory breast cancer and a T4c tumor.

Wow! You can imagine my shock as this has never been said before. I’ve spoken to my breast nurse who said that a T4c tumor would mean that cancer was present in the chest wall and my skin but it is in neither.

She wasn’t able to say if it is a mistake or not.

I’m so sick already fromy chemo on Wednesday, I have 2 young children at home and I cant get my head around any of this. I feel dreadful and now I’m not able to sleep because of this letter.

Can anyone help or shed any light on this for me.

Xxx
