Just about made sense of that Christine lol 😉
Good luck Amanda. Xxxxxxxxxx
Morning Sissy, isnt technology great! Keeping in touch from hospital would have been unheard of a few years ago, you were not even allowed to have phones switched on! Lovely to hear from you and know you are doing ok Xx jo
Sending you lots of love and a big hug Amanda, will soon be over! xx
Thanks for that Sissy, I'm on way down now. Finger's crossed for the gynea ward. Speak to you later everyone. Amanda xxx
Phew, thank goodness it's the night shift and you're all now tucked up in bed and I can do some serious catching up now the frantic morning and evening postings on here have quietened down. But not for much longer cos I'm knacked - which doesn't mean I'm doing a short post which, as you've all come to realise, is plainly impossible for me to do.
So "HI" to everybody again.
Lorna - Aren't you lovely. I've followed you on other threads. Hey, not that the rest of you aren't - I'm gradually working my way round with the compliments so don't get all indignant and jealous !! I'm not totally happy with the name "Delly's Buddy Services" so it may change - will give it some thought cos I'm quite good at coming up with names. Came up with "Shampooch" for a friends dog grooming biz and "Mind Power" for anothers hypnotherapy practice. I should be taking royalties really don't you think. Yes thank you - feeling not too bad as yet. If I can keep it up I'll become even more annoying so be warned. You may all regret giving me such wonderful support.
JenJen - am here and understood. Wow, you HAVE been busy and well organised and I'm so glad everyone's coming up trumps for support. You'll have to let me know where you went for your mezze's - love Mediterranean food. Is the Spanish place "La Tasca" still open on Deansgate ?? I used to love their Tapas and paellas, to share with someone spesh, partner/friend. Haven't been into M/C centre for quite some time now, bit further out in the stix here, but it has other advantages. Will Monday be your 1st chemo sesh ?Remind me, is it going to be chemo with you first, review, then surgery? Sorry, can't rememb everybody's - there's so bleepin many of us it's frightening. Need an income sweetie so need to make that priority over voluntary work tho' have always had it in mind.
I need to set myself up as a "healer" to rid the world of this bleepin disease, but a genuine one ( that is I either cure you or drive you mad so you end up not caring. Hee!). Should keep me busy on top of "Buddy" sevices. That's me saw- id ( that's "sorted" said with an Essex accent).
Me thinks TandyTina's gone into overdrive - My drains were in max 3 days for each one. Regards to keeping your pants on - ask the nurse before you go in. Personally, I like to go commando !! For flips sake, you're gonna be out to the world in a completely unaware state of the most beautiful anaesthetic euphoria and wont be giving a toss who sees your fanny or boobs - they've seen plenty. Yours may be something unusual tho' and I'm told they sometimes take photo's of any that are unusual . . . . . I'm JOKING darlin! So your still waiting on a surgery date. I loved hearing you talk about you and your hubby soulmate - 31 years and still in love, absobloominlutely brill. Mind you, it may be a different story when he retires and is under your feet all day every day- lol hee.
Sissy, no, high street don't cater for big bosomed ladies who've had Mastectomies. That nitty gritty stuff'll be sorted after a week or so and you'll feel a million dollars when you've been properly fitted with bra and prostheses -well I did. Went to a specialist shop to get fitted and spent a fortune on some reeeally nice mast bras and matching briefs and thongs. Walked out minus £200 ! but . . . . it was worth every penny. So warn your hubby and/or your bank manager ! In the words of the L'Oreal ad - "You're worth it". Soo glad you're surprised how well you're feeling - we did try to tell you, but back in the same position, I'm not sure I'd have believed it either. Bet that was the BEST cheese sarnie, cup o' tea and McDonalds you've ever tasted. It's these opiates - wonderful stuff and give you the munchies as well as being starved for 1/2 a day. Have a good rest and lots of nice treats.
Fuffs - hope you're recovering, stablising and getting back onto the not so nice chemo track.
Claire - you're doing really well. Good luck from me too for Mondays result day.
Nikki- 1st chemo today I think. From checking into Peggycats chemo thread sessions (yeh. . . . see, I spy on you all) - it's all an excuse really to sit around all day, drinking cups of whatever and talking in the "Loose Women" fashion, so no sympathy from me. x Get that BazzinBazza running around after you - make him work !
Peggycat - Thanks sweetie ref puddycat Chloe, I'd already pre-empted your suggestion tonight and slyly put the tab in a clump of her fave food of the moment and shhhh - she fell for it. Too traumatic for the BOTH of us me trying to gently open her jaws and put tab into her mouth. I woke up with a jolt this morning thinking the worst, as she hadn't eaten anything I'd put down last night and left before going to bed, but I needn't have worried - she'd wolfed the lot in a midnight feast session! She's already looking better thank goodness. So I'll keep persisting with the "sly" approach. Where do these human and animal pharmacy co's get their prices from?? - £30 per month possibly for the rest of her very precious to me life - I'd begrudge having to pay that for mySELF. Absolute rip -off. Wish I'd gone into pharmacy development and production !! But I adore her and she's a L'Oreal cat so "worth it". Keep eating the cake Ruth (and mixing up the potions in the chemo coven) Sounds a hard tough slog - sending a hug.
Speaking of "HUGS" - I was most envious of all your talk of good hugs when catching up on posts yesterday. Couldn't rememb when I last had one. Bumped into a lady today who lives on my road who I've talked to and with several times since I moved here 2 yrs ago - Sheila and hub Ed. Hadn't seen her for ages and had wondered how she was as last time I'd seen her she'd had health probs. She'd also been wondering about me and thought perhaps I was ill ? "Nothing that a brain transplant wouldn't cure" say I quite cheerfully. We stood chatting for about 20 mins about all sorts. She hadn't known any of my boob history or bereavements etc.so was pretty shocked to hear what had gone on with me in the last 10 yrs. I don't know this lady very well at all but she looked at me and just said "I think you need a hug" and we both stood on the pavement - arms wrapped round each other in a lovely long warm hug. Told her aftrewards that I'd only been reading hug posts on here yesterday and missing some human contact. Couldn't believe it - blew my socks off, how weirdly insightful. Think it's my Mum sending messages again (as in recent butterflies). She wants me to go round for an afternoon tea !! Awwwww.
I've been getting on with stuff this week hence my absence, car sorted and back on the road after me not driving for 15 mnths, cat sorted, front door cleaned, few loads of washing, been keeping myself clean and teeth brushed, done some job searching and applied for one, researched into types of therapy and availability in this area thanks to a link sent by Naz on another thread. Hope I can keep it up, ask me tomorrow ??
You lot on here and other threads are responsible for much of it - THANKS buddies and you all thank Sheila for the hug.
Dellywelly xxxxxxxx
Lovely to see Oscar, just love cats, we have 3 ! Would be great to see you too 😊😊
This, is Oscar the best cat in the world will try again,
I'm trying to encourage everyone here to post their pictures so we can put faces to names 😊
Amanda so lovely to put a face to a name 😊😊
Hi Ladies and Barry, have been FaceTiming with my two eldest daughters so haven't quite read all the posts, but thanks for all the best wishes!
Sissy, you're doing amazingly, well done! Do they have wifi or are you on your phones data?
Going to attemp to change my photo now!
Amanda x
Way to go spongebob! well done x
You can change your pic from a paint brush to you Laura! 😊
Pictures ladies! I want pictures 😜
Hi Sissy! Lovely to hear from you so soon 😊See told you it was a piece of cake lol! It's amazing how good you feel though isn't it, nothing quite like you have been imagining I'm sure, you eat what ever you fancy lovely, you deserve it!! Xxx
So funny......😂 Ok, so, how or what do we do to 'reveal' ourselves!?!....... Omg I nearly wrote relieve!!!! 😜
😂🤓😂👍🏼
Ladies I've been thinking.... It's about time you all revealed yourselves! And I don't mean flashing your boobs 😂😂
Thanks Jen.
Chomps sprout.
x
Thanks Jill. I can't complain. I've got off lightly with the SEs so far. I'm just a bit grumpy when I'm tired. Hope all is well with you. x
Nice to see you back Delly. Hope your little cat is okay. The thyroid thing is very common with them. Is there any food she will wolf down that you can hide the pills in? I'm pretty bad at forcing them down their throats too so I feel your pain.
Tandy, I honestly wouldn't stress too much about the drains. I had two when I came out of hospital after my MX and they were in for a week. Put them in a little bag that you can drape over your shoulder and you'll be fine. You soon get used to taking them everywhere with you. I had no issues when they were removed. A couple of pain killers an hour before seems okay and the BC nurses are experts at removing them.
Hope everyone who is having treatment today and the next few days is doing okay. I'm on a chemo tired spot at the moment but had a lovely day after a friend visited and brought me some home made cake.
xx
Hi Amanda, so sorry took me ages to get back to you! Out all day. They're called 'SALIVIX' - Salivary Stimulant (😂) Dry mouth relief sugar free pastilles, by Galen. I found them very good as there were only so many boiled sweets I could take!! All the best for tomorrow! Big hugs xxx Tina
Hello lovely Peeps
Cor lummie, I've got 8 pages of your posts to catch up on - you don't arf talk a lot !! I'm teasing of course.
So I'm not catching up with it all right now, but will do when I've nothing else better to do or I'm bored (I'm teasing again !!) and am keeping this message general until I catch up on all your specifics and gossip.
First and most importantly, I wanted to thank you for all your kind words following my down in the dumps post last week and was feeling, to use JenJens word "cack". You make me laugh with some of the words you come out with and I MUST look into that link you were all going on about - something to do with someone claiming to be able to cure cancer, was that the general gist ? What's with the sprouts thing ??
Peggycat - my apols with my ref sore boob, I must have mixed my boobs up !! Hope you're doing ok darlin with your chemo bashing. x
Amanda - think you said your op Friday - Tomorrow in fact ! - I'll be in your pocket to tease and annoy you but keep you safe also. x
Sissy - op yesterday. Hug and a wave, hope all went well, that you're not feeling too sore and are being well looked after. x
Bilge - Haha, a warm "Hi" from me. And Yes, please do explain the reason behind the name - I'm intrigued because I haven't noticed you smelling at all, you look pretty clean to me and in fact too attractive for such a name. Naomi is like the opposite extreme, pretty, sophisticated sounding. Still at least you didn't call yourself "Sewage" !! Yeh, tiredness, I realised in retrospect after diagnosis that I'd been more tired too. x
JenJen - remind me when you start your chemo and will that be at Christies ?? How will you get to appointments - will transport be arranged ?? I can offer any help being in the sameish area (Maccs not too far) and with not working at the mo' I have more free time than probably most of your friends who may all be working. I'm being totally genuine and serious here, I'd be happy to lovey. You can PM me if you like, let me know what area of M/C you live and when you start. So I'm offering - have a think on.x
Perhaps I could make it a vocation, hire out my services to anyone else here, "Dellys Buddy Services" just throw me a fish or the odd glass of red in payment !!
I'm gonna post this now, 'cos despite saying I wouldn't catch up now, I have been doing and I need to sort a couple of things so I'll come back later. Also, took my cat to the vet yesterday and she's very ill at the mo' so I've got to stock up on tasty foods as she's on an "anything to tempt her" diet. Got to get some wieght back on her. Blood tests for Thyroxine were actually off the scale. I'm prepared to go to any lengths and cost but not to the caviar - that's stretching it a bit. Daily tabs, which I haven't got the right nack of giving yet but am gonna get lots of practice cos they may be for the rest of her life. Managed last night without causing her too much stress or loss of my own blood or fingers, but she was well peed off with me afterwards, sulked for 1/2 an hour.
Love to you all for now
