Newly diagnosed

Hi, new here, I was diagnosed last month after a regular mammogram revealed 2 cancerous lumps in r breast and possibly lymph nodes, turned out lymph nodes were clear, and I had surgery on 26th may where they removed the 2 lumps, the surrounding tissue and reduced both breasts as they were very large and heavy, and I was informed smaller would be helpful for the radiation I will have, feeling sore from stitching, in shock, and fearful for the future,

Hey there, i’m completely new to the forum (it was recommended to me by my breast care nurse today). I’m Emily i’m 37, I found a painful lump in my left breast in April and they found a 15mm  invasive ductal cancer. So far i’ve had a lumpectomy and a sentinal node biopsy - i’m now waiting for radiotherapy to start.  Do you have a date for your radiotherapy? I think mine will start at the end of June.  Hope you are healing well, Emily x

Hope you’re recovering well now. Have you found out what further treatment you’re having?

@darraghennisfan  My situation sounds fairly similar to yours but my radiation therapy is done and dusted.  Life changes but I really recommend taking each day as it comes.  I try to live in the moment and not think about what might or might not happen.  Be kind to yourself… I found acceptance really hard and am still working on that but also try to focus on the now rather than the what’s happened and what’s coming.

wishing you all the very best
