Thank you. I spoke to my breast care team on Monday and went to have my seroma drained (350ml so not surprised was painful) It seems ok at the moment.

Swollen Wound After Full Lymph Node Removal

Hello,

I was wondering if any of you lovely people had any advice to offer. I’m still at the beginning of my breast cancer journey and still getting my head around everything. As I’ve posted before I have had a grade 1 breast cancer which has been removed by lumpectomy and also had three sentinel lodes removed. Due to one being positive I have recently had a full node removal. This was 10 days ago. A week ago I started to swell at the wound site but it has been swelling more each day and is starting to affect round towards chest/breast area. However no signs of lymphodema which is good.

I just wondered if any of you had any advice on how to help relieve the swelling? I’m taking regular pain relief and am still able to manage arm exercises at the moment but is just very uncomfortable. I will contact my BCN Monday if things haven’t improved but as it’s the weekend thought I would ask on here. I have read that fluid will absorb itself eventually but how long could this take.

Thank you x
