Hi black cat ❤️ Mine were not the tight chemo curls but more just a curl if that makes sense, my hair before chemo was naturally wavy like beach waves anyway and it’s gone back to that now if I let it dry naturally 👍 I found putting as much moisturising products into hair helped also right from when hair was starting to grow back I’ve rubbed extra dark Jamaican black castor oil into my scalp it was a tip I was given to help hair grow quicker and worked well for me and still do it once a month, rub it in, put shower cap on leave for hour tgen was as usual ❤️🤞🤞 you tame tge curl 💕💕✨✨Shi xx
I’m 17 months post chemo…l I can now tuck my hair behind my ears ( just!) I just have curls to the last inch or so of my hair now….although overall my hair has more volume than it ever did ….I think this is not because it is any thicker….but because I have a wave through all my hair that seems permanent….although it looks straight ( if that makes sense) ….I am actually really liking my hair now , I hope you get to that stage soon
Thanks Shi, I have been using straighters and products that help calm the curls. Just wondering if they would eventually grow out.. the newer hair nearer the roots dose seem to be coming through a bit straighter. I guess time will tell. Thanks again for your recommendations I will look into those.

Black cat ❤️ To start with chemo curls grew back for me and as soon as they were long enough I got the straighteners on them. Aussie miracle moisture shampoo and the deep 3 minute conditioner helped and also Philip Kingsley hair elastisizer and Aran oil and the Aussie spray to stop humidity and tge Aussie miracle save my lengths you will hopefully find the longer it gets the more weight there is to your hair and hopefully this helps but hair straighteners have been my answer, I use cloud 9 and they’ve worked very well for me combatting the chemo curl the last 4 years 👍don’t know if this will help but it’s what’s worked for me 💕💕✨✨Shi xx
Hi if you put “ curls “ in the search bar of this section you will pull up several threads about this subject @Shi can you help ?
Hi, I’m 2 years and a few months post last chemo. My hair is now shoulder length and I’ve had about an inch cut off. It’s got lots of layers and has grown back very curly. If I brush it or go anywhere near a hairdryer it turns onto a big frizzy mess.
Anyone know if eventually the curls will grow out ? If so how long?
