Wanted to share my good news with you, the results came back as a benign cyst, so onwards and upwards to recovery frommy hysterectomy.
Thank you for your wonderful support
Oh that is wonderful news and I wish you both all the very best for the future. I remember when I moved in with my partner Colin, that was 18 years ago and we are still together
I am taking each day as it comes, I honestly did not realise despite people telling me, just how invasive it is and the extent of the scar, I had a bikini line op, but also I can not believe how well I am doing only two weeks after the op, but I am not going to push myself too far, there is always next week to start doing a bit more.
Oh yes, I know my priorities changed dramatically post bc diagnosis, the things that used to matter and stress me out just seem so insignificant now.
Ah so glad to hear things are progressing positively. I think we sometimes underestimate the extent of the surgery and treatment we are having - I certainly did - so it sounds like you are doing really well.
I am making the most of life, living in the moment and just remembering how different things were one year ago. Cancer certainly changes your attitude to life doesn’t it? I have very exciting times ahead - my partner of 5 months and I have decided to move in together - so life is definitely on the up. God willing it continues.
Much love to all the ladies on this message stream.
Not too bad at all darling. I am now 2 weeks post op, had my staples out just over a week ago, got a slight problem with a tiny bit of the scar not healing but the nurses are sorting that out and are pleased with the way it is going, just trust me to have that, mind you I have that problem when I cut myself sometimes it takes a while to heal.
Cant believe how well I feel considering the surgery that I had. Walking around well, eating well!! am now a third of the way through to my first milestone
How are you doing? xx
Thank you so much, oh I am taking it easy, I have not done anything today as I have been feeling very tired.
Cant wait until I can say I am 12 months post my hysterectomy. Well done you lady lovely to hear and so reassuring xxx
Speedy recovery Helena - take it easy 💐, enjoy Cuba Alibobs ⛱ very jealous 😊. I love that we are all cracking on with life in the Club 💃🏖🌊✈️🎉
A quick hello to everyone from me - especially to you Helena.
It is one year ago today that I had my last op - ovary removal - and I cannot quite believe a year has gone by. Lots of living done since then, which I am very proud of. God willing it will continue.
Love to all.
Just popped in to say hello. Well 5 days post my hysterectomy had my staples out today, not feeling too bad but it has been a tiring day so resting up. I came out of hospital on Thursday evening, was told I could go home at 8.30am that morning but by the time I was finally discharged it was 4pm so a frustrating day.
Hope you are all well xx
Wow, I would love to see Kylie - sounds fab.
Happy weekends to everyone - hoping you are all fit and well.
Hi Ladies of Tropicana, good to see you are all well. All good in my world, blood tests came back clear last week so it’s full steam 🚂 ahead for me to have a great Christmas this year! Found out on 21/12 last year so made last years festivities somewhat surreal. Went to see Kylie in concert last week - I hope I can dance like that when I’m 50, she was fantastic 💃. Have a great weekend x
Hello ladies! I haven't been on here for ages, work has been a total nightmare so busy. I've just got back from Ireland which was a lovely break. Shi, no Xmas shopping for me yet but I have 3 Xmas dos planned to make up for the lack of Xmas last year so plenty of 💃🕺🏻💃🕺🏻and 🍹🍹🍹for me 😊 Hope everyone's doing ok love to you all 🤗
I have not started the Christmas shopping but have definitely started planning the Christmas menu!
Does making xmas cards coun?? As part of my free gifts in my monthly cross stitch mag I had 4 different designs so starting to put them together. It is the only thing that will make me sit and do nothing at the moment. Feeling better today so hopefully have turned the corner, I still have over two weeks before my new op date so fingers crossed xxx
Sorry not to post for a while. Was manic at work, then on a week’s holiday on a Greek island. Bliss. My post-cancer reward.
Hoping you lovely ladies are feeling fit and well as we march through September. How can it be Sept 12 already?
P.S. Still seeing my date - 3mths now!! ❤️
Hi ladies sorry I’ve not been on here for ages but I just got out of the habit!! All is good in my world....no longer at the pub but doing nails in my unicorn shed in the garden which I love!!! 🦄 💕
Hubby still drives me crazy 😜 but that’s probably why I married him as I do love a challenge!!
Had my mammogram on Friday and as long as the results all come back clear (which they saying could be between 3-6 weeks 😱) then I don’t have to see anyone for 2 years!!! My zapped boob still feels very tender and lumpy but has been felt by 3 different consultants all of which reckons it’s scar tissue so having to put my trust in them!!
I haven’t been able to go through all the posts I’ve missed but hope you’re all doing ok 👌 and sending you lots of love and positive vibes 😘😘💕💕😘😘
Good luck Allibobs on your phased return to work - remember fatigue lasts a long time - be gentle to yourself and recognise when you need a rest. I agree whole heartedly this forum is a life saver in itself! I've met some truly amazing ladies on here. 12th October - Breast Cancer awareness day - I'm raising funds for this charity without a doubt. x
I havn't been around for ages now due to the fact that I am back at work and lots of things have been going on. Hope you are all well, I am doing fine but still finding that I get very tired a lot.
My twin grandbaby boys are going to be delivered very soon, I will know the exact date when their lovely mummy goes for her scan next Tuesday. She has to have a C-section as one of them is breach, I am so excited to meet them.
Ooh, forgot to mention - you remember I said I was going on a date a couple of months ago?
Well suffice to say all is going VERY well!!
Hello there. It takes about an hour from start to finish - they put a line in, flush through saline for 15mins or so, then 15mins of the bisphosphonate going in, then another saline flush. It is painless and I was given plenty of tea and biscuits as I sat there.
Side effects - the first was definitely the worst. I was told that I would feel like like was going down with the flu for the first couple of days afterwards and indeed I did. But that cleared after 48hrs and I felt fine. My second infusion was a lot better - I felt far less rough - which they say is because the body has been through the treatment before. I also managed my schedule a lot differently second time around in anticipation of feeling rough for a couple of days - I.e. took two days off work, nothing planned in the diary, generally took it very easy. I don’t know if that helped or not, but second time around was far less tricky in terms of side effects.
I will be having these infusions 6-monthly for 3 years, so my next one is in January.
Hope that helps / reassures?
P.S. Hello to all the other lovely ladies on this post. xx
Oh you are gorgeously bonkers and bring a sunny smile every time you post xxxx
