Thank you for sharing. Its really nice to be able ask these kind of questions and people on here just get it.
I will look into that hair dye you reccomend
Thanks again 😁
i had a similar feeling when my hair started to grow back, I was so relieved but the grey got me down and I was desperate to look a like more like me.
I found a permanent hair dye with the least nasties in it, I think the one I used was called Biokap. I fully did the patch test and my skin was fine and I have been dyeing it regularly since. I was nicely surprised how much more hair I had once it was all the same colour.
this is against all the advice I read though and I generally didn’t react to things pre-bc either xx
Thank you Ann for your advice, yes it has helped A Vegetable dye sounds like a sensible choice. I think you are right though might wait bit longer before doing anything 😁
Thanks again 👍
Hi, isn’t it lovely when you start getting hair again!😍 Your BC nurse should go over this with you as you need to be careful of skin too. I got chemo curls next, which I loved, but when it was cut it went go straight. I was advised not to have it dyed for at least 6 months as there will be after effects of chemo and rads. Skin is more sensitive, you sunburn easily etc.I was also advised to use a vegetable dye at first to see how the scalp/ skin tolerated it. Of course, the advice to us cancer girlies is to stay away from all chemicals, preservatives etc, so that made sense to me. My hairdresser was very happy to procure a suitable hair dye for me, but it washes out quite easily and, of course, isn’t cheap! In the end I opted to stay au naturel and it has saved me a fortune! When my hair first grew back it was white, but has gradually darkened and it’s a quite attractive steel grey now. I had all my treatments 2017. Hope this helps. Ann x
My last Chemo Session was in September. I lost all my hair but luckily it is growing back. It's looking like a very short pixie cut right now. Its grown back quite dark and more grey, salt and pepper like. I would really like to dye it and start to feel a bit more feminine. Just wondering if anyone else has dyed their hair since and any tips or reccomended types of dye as I dont want to cause any damage.
