Re: Pain in scar after 2yrs

Hi

yes I also went this week for mammogram and ultrasound. Mine was where the muscle collapsed and causes a ridge but nothing to worry about.  Just have to learn  to live with the new me

Re: Pain in scar after 2yrs

Hi there!

Well I went to the clinic this week.  They think it’s possibly fibrous scar tissue attached to the muscle and therefore causing the pain. I will be having an ultrasound of the  scar as that wasn’t picked up in the mammogram (clear results btw!)

They have also referred me to complimentary therapy for scar massage and acupuncture. Though not sure how long the wait will be.

keep going everyone!

@sparkle0103

I had my annual mammogram a couple of weeks ago and almost shot through the roof when they did that side! 😞

Re: Pain in scar after 2yrs

My scar actually runs along the thick part of my bra and under my breast. It's quite deformed now, with a dip in it, I call it my wonky boob!😂

My surgeon said in September that she could do more surgery on it to make it look less wonky but I really don't want to put myself through another anaesthetic and further surgery - at 54 there's only me and my hubby who see my boobs and neither of us are bothered.

Im just not sure if they feeling I'm getting is because the scar is pulling it down 🤷‍♀️

Hi @louby_lou69

I’m sorry to hear that too. Is your scar lower or upper?

I am very lumpy and have an apt on 16th March to decide what to do. Will let you know what they say x

Re: Pain in scar after 2yrs

Hi

Just came on here to do a search and found yours.I had a lumpectomy in Aug 2021, plus chemo, radiotherapy.

I haven't got pain as such but my boob just feels generally uncomfortable. It feels quite lumpy, swollen and heavy. I check it every  month but it's always felt strange. Examination by my surgeon and recent mammogram all say everything is fine.

But it just feels uncomfortable. When will,it ever end.

@ClaireB  - Hi back, Claire. That's great. Well done you for tackling it by the horns.

I'm hoping that's what it is, and can be easily sorted for you.  I'm really interested to know how you go on. Plus it may be helpful to others to know.    Delly X❤️X

Hi @delly well I’ve eventually been brave and spoken to the nurses. They will see me and assess. They have suggested referral for massage.

thank you for the push ❤️

Hi there!

Thank you so much for taking the time to reply. It certainly is quite lumpy. I will be brave and maybe call the nurses.

I will let you know how things go.

Thank you!

Re: Pain in scar after 2yrs

Hi ClaireB

No, I don't think it "normal", two years later, flower.

I'm wondering if you may have developed what are called "adhesions", where fibrous tissue can develop around scar tissue. So called, because the surrounding and overlying tissues "adhere" to it. Whether that may be causing a "pulling" or "pinching" and causing the discomfort. If it IS, it can often be helped and sorted, by manual massage, to free or release the tissues, which are basically "sticking" to each other.

I'm hoping that's all it is. Have you yet spoken to anyone about it, and had it looked at?? If it were me, I would do.

Good luck with it. Will you please post back to let us know how you go on.

Lotsa lovey-dovey to you,  Dellypoos 😊  X❤️X

Pain in scar after 2yrs

Hi there, triple positive diagnosis Feb 2020. TCHP, wide excision lumpectomy, radio, 8mth Kadcyla.
I have had the odd pain which has recently become more regular. It feels like someone is taking my scar by 2 hands and twisting it. This takes me by surprise.

Is this normal? Does anyone else get this and any suggestions to help.

Thank you!

Claire
