Rather late I’m afraid. after many years I came to avoid these forums because I have lost so many, and dear Nicky understood that. She was always so knowledgable, supportive, and just so kind. RIP dear Nicky. So many tears, but she is safe.
So sorry to read about Nicky - she was an amazing supportive member of the forum who will be very much missed .x
I cry every time I pop on here and realise she's gone but also know she would want us to celebrate her life too.
She was a buddy from when we first met in 2008 when we were all doing chemo, she was our expert having gone through it previously, we ended up having to move forum's from undergoing treatment as we moved on but I often forgot our chemo thread was read by many others looking for our support and must of though lt was bonkers, with the nicknames for wigs, talk of dog hair to cover bald patches and all our mishaps but she helped so many and throughout this fight she was always positive looking for her next options to fight to stay with her loved ones.
She loved talking about her family and I loved hearing about all her walks and many trips away, she will be a major miss for us and everyone thst knew her and a true inspiration xx rest easy buddy xx
Some lovely messages on here - thank you. Nicky was such a support to many people
I have some details of the live streamed funeral service for Nicky which will be on Tuesday 29 December @ 11am. Please PM me on helen44 before Mon 28 Dec 8pm, if you would to join the service and I can send you the username & password to log in.
Message from the family -
"Nicky specifically requested in her journals to ‘Celebrate my life, please’. We would have hoped to have been able to do this with you all in person but unfortunately that is not the case, for the time being. Due to the current restrictions, we are extremely limited in numbers for physical attendance to the funeral service, however we are able to have a live webcast of the service which will also be available for the following 28 days, should you wish to ‘join us’ in remembering and celebrating Nicky’s life. The service will be webcast from 11.am on Tuesday 29th December 2020.
Once restrictions allow us to, we certainly hope to be able to bring everyone together in memory and celebration of Nicky, next year.
Please use the following link https://www.obitus.com/ to access the live webcast of the service. For more information or to make any charitable donations, as Nicky requested, to the wonderful St. Michael’s Hospice, please use this link: https://www.dignityfunerals.co.uk/funeral-notices/07-12-2020-nicola-neame/
Thank you Helen,
she was my buddy too. We found each other and our group formed in 2008 when we all had chemo together. Then we moved across to another section when we all finished chemo. We had such fun laughing about chemo. I remember she road tested how fast you could drive with the car top down and keep your wig on. She came to my house in Essex and I managed to drive to meet her too at her old home. She must have gone downhill fast as we spoke on here often. Another of our special group gone 😞
I am so sad as she put up a gallant battle and deserved to continue to battle on.
Thank you so much for contacting us. Please tell her husband I will be on her mobile as either Lily or Val. My condolences to him and her 2 lovely girls and little chap xx

I am so sad to read this, but thank you for letting me know. We will all be shocked in Buddies, as we've been chatting for so long and even though I've never met the ladies (Nearly met Nicky once) I feel that we all knew each other so well.
Please pass on my condolences to Nicky's husband and daughters, and all her friends. This seemed to happen so quickly.
It is with real sadness that I tell you that our lovely Nicky passed away on 7th December. I had been friends with Nicky for 7 years, we met up several times a year in Portsmouth through our BCN Hampshire Meet Up group and all the group are devastated by her death.
