Hi there, I was diagnosed with grade III triple negative breast cancer in April this year. Luckily my nodes were/are clear. My treatment plan consists of 8 bouts of chemotherapy consisting of 4 cycles of Carboplatin and Paclitaxel and 4 cycles of Epirubicin and Cyclophosphamide (EC). I have two cycles of the latter to go and will need surgery and possibly radiotherapy. My experience so far has been okay but really hard going some days. Both concoctions made me feel bad for about 9 days from extreme fatigue, nausea and aches and pains I’ve never experienced before especially the bone pain from the GCSF injection! I’ve lost my hair, lashes and brows which had a huge impact on my confidence and also have put weight on which I struggle to accept. Before my diagnosis I went to the gym regularly and had a healthy diet so finding out I had breast cancer was a massive shock. I have learnt to accept what is happening and what still needs to happen but still have down days. My family and friends are very supportive but sometimes it can feel isolating, like I’m on my own in this.
The thing to remember is you’re not on your own, there are others going through the same or similar and it is good to reach out to them as it can all be overwhelming and scary!
I noticed you’re post is from July, have you had to have chemo before surgery?
Am happy to talk and and share experiences.
sending you positive vibes 🙂
i hope your your meeting with you oncologist went well. I am 47 and have had a mammoplasty with lumpectomy. I had surgery 4 weeks ago and like you early stage, 20mm, and advised tamoxifen and radiotherapy for 4 weeks. However my onco report scored me at 20 which is borderline. Have been advised to have chemotherapy for 6 sessions starting in two weeks. However I am considering declining chemotherapy as will only increase my chances of it returning by 4%. The thought of it scares me so much.
How did you get on?

I can’t see anything on grade three here so starting a new post.
I have just had diagnosis and lumpectomy and have been told it’s early stage grade three cancer. I am now going to have an Oncotype DX test as per my consultant.
Next step is treatment which will definitely be tamoxifen and radiotherapy and likely to be chemo 😞
Has anyone else been diagnosed with grade three early stage ? Is chemo mainly used for grade three early stage ? It’s hasn’t spread to lymph
