After lumpectomy is that normal the b to become "hard"?

Hi, I had a lumpectomy on the 28th of December and didn't really know what to expect.  My breast was very swollen and sore which I thought must be normal - yesterday I discovered there was a bit of a problem as it "popped" like a balloon made a bit of a mess, to say the least, but it was clearly was not "fresh" blood as it looked more like treacle.  Any way trips back and forth to the hospital I am now sat with a funny little bag attached to the wound a bit like the insides of a wine box that I have to drain every few hours and antibiotics the size of horse tranquilisers.  I haven't posted this to scare you but just to say if your not sure get it checked.  Everything I had previously read about lumpectomy was very positive and talked about recovery being a very quick and simple process.  The scans I have now had show 2 hematomas still to drain at 8cm goodness knows how big the one was that popped out.  The good thing is it feels much better now although I am a little worried about it refilling I suspect this is in my head and actually not possible.  The consultant says it will take a couple of weeks to sort itself out.

I'm only a few days after surgery, but I have harder areas where the lump is and above it. I asked the surgeon and they said it is due to the surgery as structures are moved around, and it will feel different. I was worried and asked because I want sure how I would check myself in future. They told me not to worry about it yet as all the swelling has to settle

Hi ladies, do you mind to share your experiences about lumpectomy?

I'm almost one month after lumpectomy. Few days after lumpectomy I could feel a "gap" where the lump was, but now the place is filled with a hard tissue. At the day I realised that it was painful again. Now it's not painful anymore, but it's still hard, it feels pretty different from the rest of the breast. I'm not sure if it's normal or if I should to try to contact my BCN again( as she doesn't reply my emails anymore.
