Bilateral Mastectomy to go for reconstruction or not?

Hi everyone this is my first every post on here. I’m 33 and was diagnosed with breast cancer in both breasts back in March and currently undergoing Chemo. I found out I also have the BRCA1 gene.
my question to you lovely people is has anyone on here had a bilateral mastectomy with reconstruction with a DIEP flap or decided not to have reconstruction. Sounds silly but the surgeon said I’d be smaller then what I am now (and there’s really not much) I’m worried I wouldn’t like the reconstructed look. Also my other question is what does it look like if I don’t go through the reconstruction and just go with prosthetics how does your chest look when clothed.
really sorry for the long message just struggling to find people to get both outlooks and to also see what it’s like.
thank you in advance xx
