Hi LaurenKing,
I had lumpectomy, ended up quite lopsided (uncomfortably so) got backache and started standing a bit like lurch.
I tried a prosthesis over the reduced bc side (they are available for this, not just for mastectomy) but had what I was informed was a very rare reaction to the prosthesis...mad skin irritation, so carried on lopsided, before eventually deciding I did want a reduction on the non bc side.
Happy to expand if my experience if relevant/helpful to your situation and decision making.

Hi, I'm quite shocked that you have been waiting so long. I know its for cosmetic reasons but how you feel about your body image is personal and very important to the individual. Hope this happens for you soon
Regards
Michelle
I had a mastectomy & tram reconstruction in September 2017, I had problems with fat necrosis but it's getting better so I was told at last consultant's appointment at the end of June he'd put me on his waiting list for reduction & uplift on the other side which would be 3 or 4 months. I spoke to his secretary at the end of September & she said his list was quite long (didn’t say where I was on it!) but she would call me when they had a date. She said there was a possibility of a cancellation & I'm currently working my redundancy notice so I'm willing her to call so I can leave earlier!
Hoping I won't have too long to wait, fortunately I have a new job which is flexible so having time off for the op won't be a problem. I was 46 when diagnosed so I keep saying I'll have a tummy tuck & new boobs before I hit 50!! Have to look on the bright side!!
Hope you are healing well & you are pleased with the results flower 75
Hope you don't have too long to wait helenann
Hi helenann, yes I had my surgery 3 weeks ago today! A reduction and uplift on good side and a nipple on diep side. Everything is healing really well and I honestly could not be happier with the result.. beyond what I hoped for.
I really hope your wait is nowhere near as long as mine. Good luck xxx
Hi. I was just wondering if you ever got a date for the surgery on your good breast?
I'm still waiting on a date for an appointment to go to the cosmetic clinic to discuss the next steps for my good breast.
Hope you've had your surgery.

Hi flower 75 - I had a right sided mastectomy on 24th September this year, I had immediate reconstruction with a tissue expander implant. I have been going weekly to have the implant expanded.
My boobs are COMPLETELY different - they look ridiculous 🤣.
The surgeon agreed and this week explained that once the tissue expander is at it's right level I will wait 3 months and have it exchanged for a softer silicone implant and at that stage she will discuss with me about getting the left breast done so I'm more symetrical. I got the impression I wouldn't be waiting ages for this procedure - it will be awful if I thought i was going to have to wait 5 years for it to be done! I don't think I could cope.
It's not selfish to want it doing - we have all been through enough without feeling self conscious of our bodies.
My surgeon said they do everything possible to make us feel good about ourselves again.
I'm from Merseyside, so don't know it where you live has anything to do with the wait?
I really hope you can get it sorted sooner rather than later.🤞
