How big before they drain a seroma?

Hi all!

In a nutshell… I’m 12 days post-mastectomy. I currently have a seroma & hematoma that’s the size of half a lemon (cut lengthways), which is causing the wound to bleed a tiny bit. It was seen by a nurse & doc yesterday, when it was half the size, and I was told to wait and ring the seroma clinic on Tuesday when they’d reassess. (Got to love these bank holidays!) I’m just wondering really if I should be worried/ring the out of hours team earlier than Tuesday if it gets even bigger?! And how big?!

Thank you in advance. Everything feels like a worry at the moment!!!

I would wait til Tuesday unless you think wound is infected or there is alot of bleeding . As uncomfortable as they are seromas tend to resolve on their own and are absorbed by the body without any intervention , they are rather alarming though ! I had mine drained twice but it literally filled up again within hours ! I was about to have it drained for a third time when it miraculously disappeared . Hoping its gone soon :crossed_fingers:
