Re: Red skin

Hi

Unfortunately I had some major issues last week resulting I emergency surgery. Was u sure whether to post this because we have enough worries and will respond differently to the surgery.  Anyway just hoping I dont have a repeat performance!

Re: Red skin

I had a bilateral nipple sparring mastectomy a week ago and upon removing my dressing two days ago there was a lot of redness on my right breast. My surgeon did not think it could be an infection because typically infection doesn’t set in until day 10 and this was day 6. He thinks it will clear up once the area receives more air. I think you just need to worry if you spike a fever or if the redness is hot to the touch. I will keep you updated on what happens at this weeks appointment. Best of luck!

Red skin

I had skin and nipple sparing mastectomy 3 weeks ago. Immediately there was a redness to the skin, which blanched upon pressure. The surgeon has seen this 3 times and assures me it is not an infection but visible because I have very thin skin and it will recede of its own accord. Still cant help worrying, has anybody else experienced this?

Thanks
