Hi DiKat.
Hipe you are doing ok. Hopefully we will get positive news on Wednesday 😊. I just want confirmation of my treatment plan and outcome of surgery.
lots of love xx
Hi ladies
Can’t believe it’s been a week since I posted, I can see lots has been happening.
Mel, sorry your results have been delayed, it’s so frustrating having to wait. Hopefully mine will be back for my appointment on Wednesday. Loved the personal story and pic. You look fab 💕🤗
Jewels 994, fantastic results! Good luck going forward with the RT and Tamoxifen 💕🤗
Jac67, good luck with the RT planning this coming week, hopefully you will be starting soon 💕🤗
HelenaK, I’m pleased to hear your margins were clear but sorry to hear that the nodes are affected. I’ve already had chemo so if there is anything I can help you with there, please feel free to ask. Once you know when you will be starting, you will be able to join the thread for that month. I don’t know what I would have done without the support and the shared knowledge from it. I know it probably feels like you have a bigger mountain to climb than you first thought but you got this, you can do it 💕🤗
Take care everyone ❤️
This forum has been a godsend! So much love and support. The waiting is hard - invariably start thinking all sorts. Hoping they are ready for next week.
Hugs to you too xx
Hi Mel what a lovely thing to write . Fab picture as well you look great . Hope you’re doing ok . The delayed wait must be hard . Lots love 💕
Hi ladies
Really pleased to help promote the forum.
🌸🎀🌸🎀
We can do this xx
Hi HelanaK
Sending you lots of love and positive vibes xxx
Good luck HelenaK going forward xx
Great news Julie and glad you're plan is in place Jac. I'm just back from the hospital, good news is margins were clear so no more surgery and also HER2 negative. Bad news is that cancer was found in 3 of the lymph nodes removed so now have to have CT and MRI to check for spread followed by chemotherapy, radiotherapy and hormone treatment. It's going to be a tough year. Good luck to us all xx
Yeh getting booked in for rads planning next few weeks. Starting end of June . Feels like it’s happening quick now at beginning it wasn’t.xx
Thanks Mel. Fingers crossed for you for next week xx
Julie that’s wonderful news 😃xx
Thanks Jac67,
How did you get on at your appointment yesterday xx
Oh that’s great news so pleased for you 😘
Had my results appointment this morning. Nice to hear the consultant say “You had breast cancer, but we’ve got it all out”. The 4 lymph nodes they took out were all clear. I can now start back on tamoxifen and will get an appointment through to discuss radiotherapy.
Julie xx
So sorry to hear that Mel. The waiting is awful xx
How frustrating for you Mel
Julie xx
The waiting is awful xx
No - just that they are not ready 😓
Oh that’s a shame Mel . The wait is horrible. They give you a reason xxx
Just got a call - results won’t be ready tomorrow so now have to wait another week 😓
Hi Julie
My Arm is quite uncomfortable at the moment too.
Good luck for your results too xx
Hi all,
good luck for your appointment tomorrow Jac67, welcome to the thread Jacqs, good luck on Thursday HelanaK.
Good luck on Wednesday Mel, I get my results then too.
I had a terrible night last night, just couldn’t seem to get comfortable and my side/underarm is a little tender this morning. Found it harder to do my exercises today as well.
Hugs to all
Julie xx
Good luck with your results too 🤗🤞xx
Hell Jaczs, that sounds very painful! Good luck for Wednesday Melanie, I have my appointment for results on Thursday. I woke up this morning with awful pain on the inside of the top of my arm. Even after all my painkillers it's still bad. I'd been managing without painkillers the past 2 days so don't know what's going on.
Hi Jacqs
Welcome to the thread. You sound like you’ve had quite a journey already!
i don’t have experience of what you are going through but hopefully some of the other ladies might.
Take care and keep coming back to the thread xx
Hi Everyone,
Hope you don’t mind me joining your thread as I have just had an op to put a breast expander in. I originally had a double mastectomy at the end of June last year with recon. Unfortunately I had 2 bad infections & lost the left implant. Then had to wait till after chemo to put it right. Unfortunately skin had started to stick to my chest wall, hence expander. Does anyone have any experience of these - have to have saline solution pumped in every 2 weeks to stretch skin. It’s very sore now and have heard they can be uncomfortable whole time - in this case 3 months before he attempts recon again.
Also had fat taken from my tummy to boost other implant so very tender all round.
hoping your all having relaxing weekend.
Thankyou 🤗. Hope your appointment goes well too - let me know xxx
Good luck for Wednesday Mel . I’ve got my appointment for onc tomorrow for rads . Let me know how u get on . It’ll be Wednesday before you know it 💕xxx
Morning
How is everyone? Recovering well from surgery I hope. I feel numb on my shoulder and underarm and have some tenderness at the back of my arm other than that doing ok. I get results on Wednesday so starting to feel a little anxious about that.....
hugs Mel x
Hope you're ok Linda and have had no more bleeding x
I had mammoplasty but similar to lumpectomy as they removed the lump last time I had my op in October. I didn't realise you had a spare dressing. I have no spare but didn't need one last time. I get hot so think that is why the blood is coming out or was. My last op was in October so it was cooler then maybe.
I just hope no more blood comes out as I have no more dressings but I suppose I could ask for some at the doctors.
x
I think different surgeons have different ways of doing things. I had steristrips placed over my wounds and a corset like Velcro strapping over a piece of gauze. I was told to remove the corset after 72 hours and the steristrips would come off by themselves. The ones over my SNB wound have come off now, the ones over my lumpectomy scar are loosening
Julie xx
Hi Linda, I had spare dressings from the hospital that my husband put on for me. I have to see a nurse tomorrow to check the wound. Did you have the same op as me? x
Helenak I would check if you need more dressings put on as they should stay on even if coming off until you go back for your check up. I had showers and just avoided the water going directly on my dressings and they stayed on 10 days last time. They will protect your incisions from infections.xx
Thank you for your warm welcome everyone. I came home and had a shower and the dressings were coming off so I peeled them right off. I almost passed out. I look like I've been butchered. There are 2 long incisions very close together, but not in the armpit!
I thought I had dried blood underneath the micropore dressing under my arm but then realised they use blue gauze underneath. Doh! Glad things seem to be settling down Linda. I had my dressings removed today. All looking fine and dandy. Really neat cut around my nipple where the surgeon went in to do the lumpectomy and a small nick under the arm where lymph nodes were removed. Results in 2 wks all being well, crossing everything that I won’t need any further surgery and will be able to move on to plans for radiotherapy xx
Hey,
I think the bleeding is just where blood is coming out from under the dressing when I get warm or move but looks dark under the dressing. Am more bruised now and had painkillers last night but resting today and not in too much pain. Just having paracetamol and ibuprofen today and using a heat pad which was prob why I bled on the sheet last night. Thanks anyway as a worrying time.
Hope everyone else is doing ok.
Am washing things in cold water with blood on them straight away before putting in the washer.
Seems more bruised and more blood than last time.
Keep forgetting to do stuff I need to do like paying bills and ordering usual medication etc. Also need to re flea cat.
Anyway just sitting outside under a parasol now as it is a lovely day in Somerset.
Love Linda xx
Hi Linda.
Gosh you had a long drive - you must be shattered! Bleeding could be due to over stretching but as DiKat says worth contacting hospital if not settled.
Youve been through an awful lot already.
Take care and keep in touch.
Love Mel xx
Hi HelenaK
A very warm welcome to the thread 🤗. I hope you are feeling comfortable this morning after surgery. I was also diagnosed with grade 2 IDC. I always think the waiting for the results is the hardest part. Mine are a week today 😬. Keep popping back to let us know how you are doing. I have found the thread really helpful and supportive.
lots of love Mel x
Hi Linda
Hope the bleeding has stopped now. Could be that you have overstretched like you say but if it is continuing I would give your hospital a call to be on the safe side. Take care 💕
Hi HelenaK
I hope you are feeling ok and you manage to get home today. It’s always difficult waiting for results. 🤞crossed for some positive news for you. Hope your recovery from the surgery goes well. Take care 💕
Sending you hugs Linda, you’ve had a long journey already
Julie xx
Welcome to the group nobody wants to join HelenaK, good luck with your recovery and going forward
Julie xx
Hello all of you. I have just read through this thread whilst lying awake in hospital following a lumpectomy, sentinel node biopsy and removal of 2/3rds of my axillary lymph nodes. I was diagnosed with grade 2 IDC on the 2nd May. I'm devastated that the sentinel node tested positive and now face the agonising 2 week wait for results. It's been a great help to read all your posts and I wish us all well x
Just got back from hospital after op yesterday.had a 3 hour drive and had abit of bleeding so must have overstretched.
Just had symmetrising mammoplasty so some tissue removed but not expecting anything to be found as 3D mammogram is clear on both sides.
I had my main op in October and finished rads in Jan. Had chemo first and on Letrozole now. Met some lovely ladies having probs with implants and 1 having lumpectomy and mammoplasty on good boob.
Going back on 30th for check up.
Anyone else had bleeding? Not got a drain.
Love Linda xx
Yes thanks Dikat XX
Thanks DiKat
When do you get your results? I’m guessing in a couple of weeks xx
Good Luck for your results Mel and Julie. Yes I am due to have rads as well. Not quite sure when yet, guess I will find out once results back from surgery xx
Thanks Mel, good luck with yours too
Julie xx
Hi Julie
Good luck for your results 🤞. Hopefully we will both have good news xx
Mel 🤗
Hi Mel, glad you’re feeling a bit better about things this morning. My scars are hidden by the steristrips used, so I still haven’t seen them properly yet, but they must be quite small and neat. I too get my results next Wednesday
Julie xx
