Mine was originally due in May, but they phoned and agreed to postpone for a while. Had it at end of July and got the result within a few days, all clear. It was very nerve racking especially as I had been shielding so was the first journey I had made since before lockdown.

Hi all. Hope you’re all doing okay. This time last year we were going through surgery. I guess most of us would have been due our one year mammogram about now. I’ve not heard anything about mine, but even if they were too decide to go ahead I wouldn’t be able to as I’m in the shielding group.
I ended up back at breast unit yesterday. I had an appointment because I’d been in touch with BCN 2 wks previously telling her I’d developed pain in my breast and underarm 7/8 weeks after surgery. I saw a different consultant who examined me and a scan revealed I had a cyst which was drained. Feel like it’s never ending😔 Good Luck with the rads Mel xx
I bought a parking pass Mel. It’s £20 for the month. The parking is free in front of the Queens Centre but is often very full depending on what time you go. My appointments are all around 5pm so have managed to get a space 3 out of the 4 days but having the pass takes away some of the stress because I know I can easily park nearby if full. You get your bridge tickets for free xx

Well I’ve just had the best news this evening! My BCN emailed at 9 to say my oncotype was 8 so therefore won’t need chemo! I’m so relieved and can finally see this rollercoaster ride coming to an end. 😊😊😊
BCN rang today and confirmed that margins are clear - must be more than 2mm which they were waiting for clarity about. At least I know know I won’t be having more surgery. They are hopeful oncotype will be ready on Tuesday so fingers crossed will soon know what’s happening next.
How frustrating for you. The clear margins is a good thing. Do you know what the measurements, or lack of mean?? The delayed results situation seems to have been going on for a long time at our hospital. It’s so difficult isn’t it! Understand why you feel the need to air your views. Take care and hope you get something more conclusive soon.
Oh Mel you’ve been messed about . Hope you are ok and get some straight answers next week . Definitely make that complaint as you say it’s the next person as well . But you have to think of yourself now . You just want that treatment plan so you can get it started . Sending hugs Jackie 💕💕
I spoke to my BCN yesterday. Results are back but not clear. Says margins clear but no measurements so wanting to clarify this. Still waiting on oncotype. I’m not usually someone who complains but in this instance I am. I think the wait is unacceptable and unfair. I can’t fault the care received from surgeon etc. My BCN agrees and says she knows if 2 other ladies who have complained too. It won’t improve my situation but may make a difference for other ladies in the future.
So sorry to hear this Mel, must be awful for you, 5 weeks is way too long. I really hope you get a response from BCN and it gets chased up. It’s awful being in limbo like this. Sending you 🤗.

Im not bad. Physically recovered from op but just feel in a bit of an emotional rollercoaster waiting fir results. I’m keeping everything crossed that they are ready this week 🤞
