I had my wire guided wide local excision & sentinel node biopsy yesterday, which went well and I was home in the early evening. The pain was manageable although sleeping on my back wasn’t easy and I was waking up almost on the hour extremely thirsty. I do have one concern the I had a wire to assist with the location of the lump but it seems some of the wire is still in my breast as I can feel it sticking out, is this in case I need further surgery?

It’s probably best to check with your bcn/team. I have never seen here, that the wire would be left in for any reason. Alternatively, give the helpline here a ring.

Yes check with your BCN as I had the wire and they removed it all. Good luck x
