Glad you are more comfortable it’s a great relief isn’t it to get it drained , please don’t be too despondent if it fills up again ( often happens ) you may need it drained again , eventually it will just get absorbed .
It was! 2 syringes of fluid taken off, no sign of infection quite sore but happy to be able to put my arm by my side again. Nurse says it may fill again but at least I know what to expect this time. Discovered I also have cording to manage too!
How did you get on ? Hope you are now more comfortable ?
Hopefully it’s a seroma 🤞🤞
I’m booked in this afternoon so hoping to get some relief - pain has spread down my shoulder blade now. Good to hear that it can get sorted quickly, thank you
About 3 weeks post op it disappeared .
Thank you, it’s so tight and sore. I will give them a ring - it’s all around the scar just as you described. How long did it take to settle?
It may still be a seroma , mine felt quite solid , it was around my sentinel node scar and was extremely uncomfortable . I had it drained but it filled up again , eventually it disappeared almost overnight .Best ring your BC nurse and ask them to look at it . I found the healing under arm a lot more tricky than from lumpectomy itself .Best wishes Jill
Hi -I had a lumpectomy ten days ago with auxiliary clearance of lymph nodes. First few days were a breeze, no pain just some colourful bruising but I now have a swelling around the scar under my arm, which is visible from the front, also pain (to touch) down the underside of my arm (I’m assuming nerve pain?). The swelling is really sore and resting my arm against my body isn’t comfortable at all. Has anyone had this, is it normal? I don’t think it’s a seroma as it’s not fluidy. I was planning to do a couple of weeks work in August but now thinking sitting on a computer my not be such a good plan. Any support/advice welcome
