Hi everyone,
Thank you all so much!
I ended up doing an econsult for my own doctor surgery. The following day I got a call and we chatted about how I was struggling with lack of sleep.
I was prescribed Melatonin and I take 1 2 hrs before bed and it's been fantastic. My sleep is brilliant and I wake refreshed. The brand I was given is Circadin 2mg
My meds all seem to have balanced out now and the only side affect I get is a few little flushes.
Hope you are all doing well.
ive tried to add a photo but not sure if it will work. Direct message me if you want to see the box.
Much Love

My mom has been using Calm (magnesium powder) and it helps her not feel so anxious, she sleeps better, and also helps with constipation. She is going to an integrative medicine doctor within the same cancer hospital and he told us to give her that. Oncologist approved it.
I just get one with as little ingredients as possible. Nature's Bounty is the one I use right now and I buy the one milligram off of amazon and then take two tablets per night at least a couple of hours before I head to bed. I would try just one tablet at first though. It might be all you need at least for awhile. I only went up to two milligrams after I was diagnosed. I may go back to one after I get through the horror of treatment and go into my new normal. One mg is nearest to what your body makes naturally.
Hi CB
Venlafaxine is very known to interfere with the sleep. Is there another alternative or lower dose you can take?
please look after yourself

Wow thank you so much, I think I am def going to try Melatonin. I have had a good read of loads of research on the Internet to find out if it has soya in the ingredients as my cancer was estrogen fed. Soya is a natural form of estrogen or something like that!
Which one would you recommend to buy?
Thanks 🙂
It is something you can get over the counter and my oncologist has no problem with me using it. It's the only supplement she let me continue using in fact during chemotherapy. It's common to use it in the states since it's a natural hormone that your body produces anyway. You just keep it at a pretty low daily mg usage although some people believe the more, the better. I don't. I take 2 mg a night a couple of hours before I go to sleep. Here's some preliminary info on it - https://www.nccih.nih.gov/health/melatonin-what-you-need-to-know#:~:text=Melatonin%20is%20a%20hormon....
Kay can you explain the melatonin - is it something you can buy over the counter ? I have a chronic sleep issue since meno...and am interested.....
Have you tried melatonin? I use that and it helps. I also have tried a breathing technique that I thought would be useless but I'll be damned if it doesn't work. It's pretty simple but you inhale slowly four seconds, hold it for 7 seconds, then exhale slowly for 8. Count the whole time and keep the same beat and really focus on what you're doing. Do it for three rounds and when you're done just breathe normally for a little bit but focus on that, too. It does tend to relax me enough so that I fall asleep a few minutes later.
Magnesium oil spray did help me a bit but have to warn you it can cause vivid dreams as it encourages that level of dream sleep .x
Hi,
I'm on Anastrazole (7mths) & Venlafaxine (3mths)
I'm having trouble sleeping and I wondered if anyone could recommend either a natural tablet or something from the doctor that won't interfere with the medication I'm already on.
It's getting me down not being able to have a good night's sleep. I've always slept well til my recent medication.
Any help would be much appreciated.
With love ❤️
