I am starting Herceptin Treatment on Friday intravenously alongside Chemo that I have the day before. Bit worried about possible side effects and was wondering what your experiences had been like. Will have 3 intravenously then stop whilst I have Mastectomy and then start again with 3 weekly injections for up to a year. Thank you
Hi, I didn’t have any side effects at all after herceptin on its own
I finished my year on hercepitn in June. I didn’t really experience side effects from it. It’s not a pleasant injection, it has to be given slowly over 5 minutes into your thigh, then they made me stay for an hour to make sure I was ok. You soon get used to it. Helps if the nurse has steady hands good luck with the surgery
