Morning Mirriz
It sounds like you have had a difficult time with the sepsis and admission on your first cycle. The painkillers masking a temperature is another challenging area. The chemo nurses advised me to take brufen if I could tolerate it as it doesn't mask a fever in the same way as paracetamol. I have to confess I have taken paracetamol but checked my temperature first. As your temperature has been almost borderline that is not so straightforward.
The burning hands and feet must drive you crazy. To date my hands and feet have very mild changes in sensation. Reading about the 'hand-foot syndrome' there are topical applications which may bring some relief and might be worth asking your unit about. Hope you are continuing to recover.
Hello. Reading your post has struck a chord as it is day 11 after the first T which followed 3 FEC. Today is the first day of feeling vaguely normal and able to enjoy food. I was beginning to think it may never happen. The side effects were very different to those on FEC. As you describe there has been an overwhelming tiredness. I too required anti sickness for a couple of days 8 and 9 and had mouth problems. Hopefully you too will feel better in the next couple of days.
