Exemestane

Hello Everyone

My wife is undergoing surgery to remove brain tumours from secondary bc , she is ER7, PR7, HER-2 Negative - triple negative.

She was precscribed Tamoxefen and after a year it was changed to Exemestane, I am not clinicallly qualifiied and I only know what I read on sites like this one or Macmillan, NHS etc but I have read that Exemestane is for oestrogen receotor positive so exemestane will not be of any benefit. I quote this from breastcancercare.org.

Does anyone else think this is strange or am I mistaken?

Hi there

All I know is that I am on exemestane and I am oestrogen receptor positive.  Does she have  abreast nurse that she can contact to ask? x

Hi

Going on the ER and PR figures you’ve written it looks like she is 7 out of 8 on the scale of measurement for them. That would make her highly hormone positive, not triple negative. Maybe check with her oncologist about her ‘scoring’ for them both. If she is triple negative I agree that a hormone treatment would not have any benefit.

Good luck with the surgery and post recovery.

Nicky
