HRT

Hello.  Can anyone recommend an alternative to HRT that would be safe for me, having had oestrogen-positive BC?  Or a doctor in the UK who actually knows their stuff on this subject and could give me good advice?  Thank you x

Any sSri antidepressant really will give u some relief it does me and is safe xx

Hello @SCW

You may (or may not) be aware there is a bit of controversy around at the moment regarding HRT for ladies who have had hormone positive breast cancer. Dr Louise Newson recently appeared on TV advocating that HRT is safe for us: HOWEVER Dr Liz O’Riordan who was a breast cancer surgeon who herself has had breast cancer has looked into the evidence quoted by her and categorically disputes the evidence that she quotes that HRT is safe for ladies who’ve had hormonal breast cancer.
There is also another doctor who specialises in menopause who has had breast cancer and took Tamoxifen for 10 years called Dr Annice Mukherjee who has an excellent book called The Complete Guide to the Menopause: it is very well written and gives lots of helpful advice on how to counter menopause symptoms without HRT.  She does provide private appointments and is based in Manchester.
As mentioned by @hjjourneaux  there are some anti depressant drugs which are safe to take which can help with hot flushes and Dr Mukherjee details these in her book. In the first instance if you have a GP who is willing to engage I would get hold of a copy her book and show your GP.
If you use Instagram you will find both Dr Liz and Dr Mukherjee on there: as oriordanliz  and the.hormone.doc

I hope you are able to find someone or something to help you with your symptoms
