My mother was diagnosed with BC w/ bone mets. She was also on Ribocicilib and letrozole. After our latest PET scan we found out the same thing. That the cancer has spread to liver and the whole left breast. Doctors recommended surgery first and then planning further treatment. Just worried for my mom.
Thank you. I really hope my next treatment works. I think I am still in shock that ribociclib didn't do the trick. I hadn't even completed 4 cycles of treatment before the breaks were on and it's all change. I am anxious about having to deal with a whole new set of side effects too. We had just sorted out controlling them.
Hi Julie I was on palbociclib and letrozole for 4 years so sorry you had news that ribociclib not working .I'm now on exemastane and everolimus for progression but was also told of various other options. I’m so sorry Julie that you had bad news from your scans .sounds like there are other options for you though and hopefully you can avoid chemo again . I hope you find the “ magic bullet” . There are many stories of hope on this forum fingers crossed you get some positive news soon x
I have just had my appointment with my oncologist following my first scan after starting ribociclib and was really shocked to be told it hasn't worked and my liver mets have nearly doubled in size since March. I honestly thought it was working. I didn't even contemplate that it wasn't as I have no symptoms other than slight nausea which I put down to the meds. I feel scared now that nothing will work and I'll be gone before Christmas. I don't know what my next treatment will be as they have to test my biopsy again before deciding. The oncologist said there are 2 treatments - one tabletscwithva monthly injection and the other 2 tablets. I don't know what they are though. I feel really anxious at the thought of having to manage a whole new set of side effects. We had only just got them sorted gor ribociclib. If this next treatment doesnt work then I have to have chemo again which terrifies me because I was so poorly on it last time.
